Administrator's release notes: Miscellaneous drawings improvements

Attribute file extension for surface treatment on drawing side has changed to .dsrf

The file extension for drawing surface treatment attribute files has now been changed to .dsrf. This means that the old extension .srf is now only applied to the modeling side surface treatment attribute file. All related attribute files need to either be updated or recreated to reflect this change.

To do: Rename surface treatment attribute files to .dsrf on the drawing side.

Display dimension associativity: XS_INTELLIGENCE_MAX_RULE_COUNT advanced option

This advanced option affects the accuracy of the dimension associativity. A higher value has a positive impact on drawing update and cloning operations in terms of accurate dimensioning, especially in conflict cases, when a dimension point happens to fall into several objects that are located in the same coordinates.

Also, it allows users to control the maximum number of the rules shown in the dimension associativity rule list. If the needed associativity rule is missing from the rule list, you can increase the number of the shown rules by changing the XS_INTELLIGENCE_MAX_RULE_COUNT value.

However, increasing the value will affect the drawing performance. Most of the environments are using a value from the common environment, which is 10.

To do: To increase the number of rules shown in the associativity rule list, change the value for the XS_INTELLIGENCE_MAX_RULE_COUNT advanced option.

Dimension tag content control with associativity rules

Dimension tags can be controlled using associativity rules. Selecting the most appropriate associativity rule will help users to set up dimension tags much more easily, without having to create complex exclusion filters.

This feature is especially helpful in conflict situations when dimension points might not be associated to the desired objects, because there are various other objects in the same point location.

Previously, in these situations, you had to create exclusion filters to remove all redundant objects from the tags. Moreover, in some situations, it was impossible to set up a dimension tag in a desirable way even with exclusion filters.

Automatic view-level dimensioning

The Dimensioning rule properties dialog box contains a new option And grid in the Measure from section. This new option includes grid lines to the dimensions. This option is available for the Overall dimensions, Shape dimensions, Filter dimensions, Secondary parts dimensions, Hole dimensions, and Recess dimensions dimensioning types.

Weld and weld mark now appear in the relevant views only

The new drawing level setting Weld visibility in views allows you to select whether welds are visible in all views, or just in a single view. The property has been moved from the old dialog box to the new one.

To do: Create the standard files again.

DR_DEFAULT_WELD_SIZE and DR_DEFAULT_HOLE_SIZE now work in new drawing dialog boxes

Previously, when the default weld or hole size was defined in the new dialog boxes, it was not shown correctly in templates. Now these attributes work in templates in the same way as in the old dialog boxes.

Note:

Drawing dialog boxes were renewed already years ago.

To do: Check and update needed templates in drawings (W, A and GA setups)
