Default start number

• System components that create reinforcement now by default use start number 1 when a start number has not been defined in the standard file or in the component dialog box. Previously, a default value of 0 was in use. This is not a recommended value as it affects numbering overlapping issues.

Hole reinforcement for slabs and walls (84)

• You can now define the cover thickness separately for the horizontal and vertical edge bar groups on the Picture tab.

  

Mesh bars, Mesh bars by area

• On the Picture tab, Primary bars direction has a new direct modification option, By direct modification arrow (flexible angle). You can use this option to individually rotate both arrow sides around their axis.

• On the Detailing tab, you can now define the cover thickess distance between the bar end/start point to the edge of a polygon or recess opening.

  You can use this option to define the cover thickness for both windows and doors .

  This is useful if window and door openings need to have different cover thicknesses.

• On the Bar end conditions tab, you can now select whether the bars that protrude from the selected concrete parts are cut at the openings of neighbor parts. To cut the bars at the openings, select Yes, and then enter the cover thickness.

  

Sandwich and double wall

• Creating insulation at the corners has been improved in situations where the corner parts are smaller than the insulation itself.

• On the Vertical section tab, there is a new option for creating a gap between the inside and the front of the inner shell at the bottom and the top. The gap is filled with insulation.

  

• On the Horizontal section tab, the empty void created between the front of the created corner part and the front of the insulation is now by default filled with insulation.

Wall panel reinforcement, Double wall edge and opening reinforcement

• On the Picture tab in Wall panel reinforcement, you can now select whether the reinforcement is created in the selected part or in the entire cast unit.

• You can now select on each tab where U reinforcement is defined whether to create U rebars and stirrups as a rebar group, or as bent meshes. The bent meshes are created in the outer layer of the reinforcement.

  In comparison with the original U bar and stirrups, the bent meshes will always be created in the outer layer.

• The Beam tab has been divided into two tabs: Beam window top and Beam window bottom for creating a beam reinforcement on top of the opening and below the opening. The Attributes tab has been updated accordingly.

Tensioner central gusset (18)

Tekla Structures 2021 introduces Tensioner central gusset (18). This new component creates a gusset plate to connect bracing bars.

Bolted gusset (11), Tube gusset (20), Gusseted cross (62), Bolted gusset (196)

• You can now create stiffeners to the gusset in Bolted gusset (196).

• You can now create chamfers in stiffeners in Bolted gusset (11), Gusseted cross (62), and Bolted gusset (196).

• You can now create a second chamfer in the gusset on the Gusset tab. For Bolted gusset (196), you can do this on the Picture tab.

• You can now use separate weld settings for the welds between the stiffeners and the main part, and the welds between the stiffeners and the gusset.

• You can now define different bolt properties for the start and end bolts on the Bolts tab.

  The file is searched in the following order: Environment common system steel folder (..\Environments\common\system\Steel), model folder, XS_FIRM, XS_PROJECT, and XS_SYSTEM folder.

• You can now define the Finish property for all parts on the Parts tab.

Central gusset (169)

• You can now define the Finish property for all parts on the Gusset tab.

Column - 2 beam (14)

• You can now define galvanizing holes in the end plates on the Holes tabs.

Column splice (132)

• You can now define the web bolt and flange bolt spacing and edge distances separately for the main part and the secondary part.

  

Corner bolted gusset (57)

• Weld creation has been changed so that weld 1 is now used for welding the gusset to the main part and weld 4 is now used for welding the gusset to the last secondary part.

  On the Gusset tab, you can now define that the gusset plate is welded to both the main part and the secondary part .

Full depth (184)

• You can now define the gap between the tab plate and the bottom of the top flange on the Picture tab.

  

Full depth S (185)

• You can now define the gap between the shear tab and the main part web on the Picture tab,

  

  and the gap between the opposite web stiffener and the main part web on the Stiffener tab.

  

Handrailing (1024)

• Weld 3 is now used for creating welding between the toe plates and the main part. Previously, weld 1 was used for this.

Haunch (40)

• On the Haunch tab, you can now use the Cut at upper end haunch options and create a closure plate when the haunch is created as a composite of welded plates.

• You can now define the beam stiffener offset on the Parameters tab.

  

H&V Shear Pl (64)

• You can now fit the shear tab to the main part on the Shear plate tab.

  

• You can now use weld 5 as the weld between the cap plate and the secondary part.

• You can now use weld 3 as the weld between the top flange and the shear tab, and weld 4 as the weld between the bottom flange and the shear tab.

JP Floor beam gusset (11)

• You can now define the Finish property for all parts on the Parts tab.

JP Floor beam gusset A (12)

• You can now define the Finish property for all parts on the Parts tab.

Multiple stiffeners (1064)

• On the Parameters tab, you can now select to fit sloped stiffeners with the main part flanges.

Partial stiff end plate (65)

• You can now create galvanizing holes in the front plate on the Holes - front plate tab.

• You can now define the Finish property for all parts on the Parts tab.

• You can now use custom components as a connection between the stanchions and the top, middle, and bottom rails.

Seating (39)

• The stiffeners are not created anymore when you do not enter any value for the stiffener thickness. Previously, you had to enter 0 as the thickness to not create stiffeners.

• The Beam cut tab has been added to the components. It is now possible to create weld access holes and backing bars.
