TTSD-60719 Import, export, interoperability

Import from Tekla Structural Designer: Walls that are exported from a Tekla Structures model and then updated in Tekla Structural Designer are now imported to Tekla Structures as updated rather than new, and are shown as Updated in the Model Comparison Tool dialog box.

TTSD-62160 Import, export, interoperability

Base points: When you use a base point as the location for the reference model, the scale setting no longer affects the location calculation.

TPLED-203 Templates and reports

Template Editor: Objects in Template Editor were drawn in the opposite order compared to Tekla Structures. Now Template Editor uses the same drawing order as Tekla Structures. This means that the top-most object in the Template Editor content browser is drawn first and appears under all other objects in the Tekla Structures output and in the Template Editor work area.

TTSD-59847 Templates and reports

In the TS_Report_Inquire_Cast_Unit.rpt inquire report, the parts listing has been changed to show PART_POS instead of ASSEMBLY_POS in the first column.

TTSD-62556 Templates and reports

Template Editor: All AREA attributes in Template Editor now have m2 as the default unit. Earlier, some AREA attributes had mm2 as the unit.

TSAC-5050 Drawings

View-specific dimensioning: In the Filter dimensioning method, when you used the rule option Place dimensions inside, the start and end points of the dimensions were not always at part corner points, but "in the air". This issue has now been fixed.

TSAC-5637 Drawings

Drawing 2D Library: Leader line arrows changed in mark leader lines after you had added the detail. This issue has now been fixed.

TSAC-6492, TSAC-7701 Drawings

Rebar pull-out picture and marking:
- Same geometry is no longer returned for all bars in a rebar set.
- Tapered lengths are now supported in marks.
- Tapered lengths now work correctly in dimensions.
- Grouping now works correctly with tapered lengths.
- Angle dimension lengths are now correct.
- Angle dimension values are now placed correctly.
- Other dimensions are no longer placed above angle dimensions.

TSAC-7265 Drawings

View-specific dimensioning: In the Filter dimensioning method, the extension lines of the dimensions are now pointing to the nearest point of the object to be dimensioned. Previously, the furthest point was sometimes used.

TSAC-7482 Drawings

Drawing 2D Library: Browsing for folders is now easier due to the standardized user interface.

TSAC-7621 Drawings

View-specific dimensioning: The Shape dimensions dimensioning method was slow if the shape contained a large number of vertex points. This issue has now been fixed and the dimensions are created significantly faster.

TSAC-7627 Drawings

View-specific dimensioning: If the whole assembly or cast unit is created as a custom part, dimensioning now ignores the highest level custom part and dimensions the objects inside the part similarly as if the highest level did not exist.

TSAC-7654 Drawings

View-specific dimensioning: In the Neighbor parts dimensioning method, the setting for dimensioning the assembly only partially did not work. This issue has now been fixed.

TSAC-7710 Drawings

Rebar group dimensioning: The rebar group dimensioning speed has been improved by changing the tool update behavior in the drawing opening. Now the tool is updated only if the input object in the model has been changed. Previously, all instances of the tool were always updated in the drawing opening.

TSAC-7797 Drawings

Rebar group marking: The performance of dragging the mark has been improved.

TSAC-8028 Drawings

TSAC-8055 Drawings

Rebar pull-out pictures and marking: The dimension ranges of tapered rebar group leg dimensions are now output so that the range start dimension is from the shortest bar and the range end dimension is from the longest bar. As a result all range start dimensions are from the same bar, and all range end dimensions are from the same bar. Previously this was not always the case.

TSAC-8089 Drawings

View-specific dimensioning: The Edge shape dimensioning method has been improved so that dimensions are created correctly when two partially overlapping cut parts are used to form the edge shape. Previously, the other cut part was dimensioned as a hole.

TTSD-14490 Drawings

Rich text files: Drawings now support diagonal borders in imported .rtf files.

TTSD-55723 Drawings

Dimensioning: Dimensions created for bolts with slotted holes with offset are associative now.

TTSD-55836 Drawings

You can now add assembly level user-defined attributes to part marks in drawings.

TTSD-56465 Drawings

Rebar marks: Previously, the rebar mark center-to-center spacing (CC) value was missing in drawings if the number of spacings in a rebar set exceeded 1000. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-57181 Drawings

Rebar dimension mark settings files were loaded unnecessarily when you created assembly or cast unit drawings, which caused performance problems. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-57603 Drawings

Modifying objects in drawings manually is now slightly faster.

TTSD-58255 Drawings

Drawing extensions are no longer unnecessarily updated at drawing opening, which improves the opening speed of drawings containing extensions, like for example Rebar group dimensioning.

TTSD-58811 Drawings

Single part drawings included in assembly drawings now respect better the advanced options that determine their scaling. Now single part drawings are also placed better in some cases.

TTSD-59105 Drawings

Previously, if bars in a rebar set were extended beyond the leg faces by an end detail modifier "length adjustment", the cast unit drawing section view for the extended portion of the bars did not show the extended bars. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-59310 Drawings

The color that was formerly called Aqua Marine on the Line properties tab in the Print Drawings dialog box is now called Blue-green in the tooltip.

TTSD-60341 Drawings

TTSD-60743 Drawings

Drawing hatches: Custom hatches from hatch_types2.pat file were not available for selection in the drawing property pane. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-61097 Drawings

The hatch of a graphical object could be drawn incorrectly when affected by view shortening. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-61938 Drawings

The rebar mesh size now shows multiple spacings correctly in drawing rebar marks. "RebarMeshSize" in rebar_config.inp in the common environment now uses CC_LONG and CC_CROSS instead of CC_PITCHING_LONG and CC_PITCHING_CROSS.

TTSD-62068 Drawings

Drawing custom presentation extensions: The folder structure \custom\presentation is now supported as a value for the XS_EXTENSION_DIRECTORY advanced option.

TTSD-62300 Drawings

Earlier, when bolt holes in the first bolted part were regular holes, and in one of the next bolted parts No hole option was used, a hole cross was created in single-part and assembly drawings for such parts. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-62380 Drawings

The delay between the typing and the validation of the dimension tag values in the drawing property pane has been reduced.

TTSD-62451 Drawings

TTSD-47742 System and options

Headless Tekla Structures: The support for printing has been improved.

TTSD-58885 Tekla Model Sharing

Models which use Tekla Model Sharing with automatic upload to Trimble Connect were uploaded to a wrong remote folder. This has now been fixed.

TTSD-62142 Tekla Model Sharing

Previously, in the Changes list in Tekla Model Sharing, the Label field for UDA definitions sometimes showed a technical string instead of the correctly translated label. This has now been fixed.

TSAC-7978 Reinforcement

Rebar shape manager: The Linear weight value type has been added to the Schedule fields dialog box. This addition was needed for correct unit conversion.

TTSD-54239 Reinforcement

Rebar sets: When the bar plane of a rebar set is at a shallow angle to the leg face or leg surface, it results in a large offset in order to satisfy the concrete cover requirements whilst still keeping the bar in the bar plane. Previously, this large offset sometimes took a bar leg completely outside the bounds of the concrete. Now, when this occurs, the bar leg is automatically eliminated from the rebar set.

TTSD-54841 Reinforcement

Rebar meshes: The maximum number of bar spacings has been increased from 1000 to 10000. Previously, using a value greater than 1000 might cause Tekla Structures to stop working.

TTSD-55193 Reinforcement

Rebar sets: Standard hook, cranking, and lapping values are now displayed correctly in the property pane when creating an end detail modifier or a splitter for a rebar set. The displayed standard values are read from the rebar catalog (rebar_database.inp) based on the currently selected rebar set.

TTSD-55904 Reinforcement

Rebar groups: Previously, when changing the circular rebar group type from Normal to Spiral, bars were moved to an incorrect position. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-59250 Reinforcement

When XS_REBAR_RECOGNITION_HOOKS_CONSIDERATION was set to FALSE, bar lengths were calculated incorrectly for bars where the start and end hooks were on the ends of the same leg. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-60670 Reinforcement

Previously in Rebar shape manager, if the angle of an arc was between 360 and 360.57 degrees, it would be truncated to 360 degrees. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-60677 Reinforcement

In rebar shape recognition, the STL option did not return the spiral total length value. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-60740 Reinforcement

If a rebar mesh contains bars that are not defined in the rebar catalog (rebar_database.inp), the bars are now given zero weight, to make it easier to spot the missing definition. Previously, a default weight value was used for such bars.

TTSD-60949 Reinforcement

Previously, when reporting rebar groups using a report template with SINGLE_REBAR rows, the LENGTH property value was not rounded correctly according to the settings in the rebar_config.inp file. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-61653 Reinforcement

Rebar sets: The standard values of rebar set end detail modifiers have now been fixed in the property pane. Now the correct values are displayed also when the bar size is changed. Previously the standard values of the original size were shown after changing the bar size.

TTSD-62042 Reinforcement

Rebar sets: There was some randomness in choosing a bar end when an end detail modifier was placed right on the midpoint of a rebar set bar. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-62378 Reinforcement

Rebar sets: An issue has been fixed that made rebar set bars invalid if they had a hook bending radius that was smaller than the defined bar radius. The bars are now valid.

TSAC-7489 Modeling

The macros for reopening a model have been renamed as follows:

  • Reopen current model renamed as Reopen the current model without saving
  • +ReOpen renamed as Save and reopen model
TTSD-14309 Modeling

Paths with Cyrillic characters are now working with .dwg symbols in modeling mode when using Russian language.

TTSD-49698 Modeling

The volume and weight calculation of lofted plates has been improved.

TTSD-54661 Modeling

Deleting a part with many surface treatments now works more efficiently.

TTSD-57280 Modeling

Earlier, when the TOP_LEVEL_UNFORMATTED template attribute was used for inquiring cast units with rebars, surface treatments, or added material, large unrelated numbers could be returned. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-57557 Modeling

Solid instancing in the 3D model view is now considerably faster than before for items that use shapes.

TTSD-57609 Modeling

The performance of grid line rendering has been improved in modeling mode.

TTSD-57953 Modeling

Previously, an unnecessary status bar message about Crossing selection was displayed when you switched from modeling mode to drawing mode, or vice versa. This has now been fixed.

TTSD-59351 Modeling

Previously, when the advanced option XS_DRAW_CHAMFERS_HANDLES was set to CHAMFERS, the visualization for non-foldable and broken chamfers was not effective in the model view. This has now been fixed.

The non-foldable chamfer is shown in yellow (similarly when the square chamfer might be too tight to fit a curve into it, this depends on the plate thickness as well as the chamfer parameters). When the solid cannot be created for the polybeam, all the chamfers are colored red, and only stick representation is shown for the part in the model view.

TTSD-59522 Modeling

Model view rendering now uses part geometry instancing to speed up the view opening and navigation in the view.

This speeds up the model view opening considerably when there is a large number of repetitive steel part, precast part, and item geometries in the model view.

Also, there is significant memory save on the initial view opening. However, navigating in the model still consumes more memory if there are a lot of geometry instances to be rendered.

TTSD-59817 Modeling

When you pick points on a part face, Tekla Structures no longer snaps to invisible points under the topmost visible part (with the Ctrl/Shift+4 rendering option). This makes it easier to snap to correct points, for example, when you create bolts.

TTSD-60500 Modeling

Previously, if standalone bent plates had a too big radius, the bent plates had inaccurate solids. This has now been fixed.

TTSD-60678 Modeling

The snap switches on the Snap override toolbar can now be toggled on and off.

TTSD-61070 Modeling

The snap priority of perpendicular points on construction arcs has been fixed. The snap priority is used to automatically select the point with the highest priority if several points are available to snap to.

TTSD-61114 Modeling

Now parallel snapping works when you use the Split command.

TTSD-61269 Modeling

Previously, actions for creating or deleting bent plates were not correctly specified in Undo history. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-62060 Modeling

Now the First Steps with Tekla Structures model template has been added to the Default environment.

TTSD-62279 Modeling

Previously, actions for creating or deleting lofted plates or lofted slabs were not correctly specified in Undo history. This has now been fixed.

SOLD-2276 Licensing

Previously, there was a noticeable delay when changing the modeling command after working offline for a few hours. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-46043, TTSD-47601 Licensing

To help users to resolve licensing issues independently, a message is now shown when Tekla Structures cannot start because the clock on the user's computer is inaccurate by at least 5 minutes. For more information, see Tekla Structures cannot start because of clock inaccuracy.

TTSD-58566 Licensing

Previously, the License Borrow Tool automatically modified the hostname of the license server based on information from a server name lookup. Now, the License Borrow Tool uses the hostname as entered by the user.

See also:

TTSD-54382 Installation

There was an issue in the TSEP installer where the exe.config file was not created if the file was defined in the manifest with just a single * as a wildcard, instead of *.* as a wildcard. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-48224 Core

Previously, new default keyboard shortcuts did not always appear automatically after installing a Tekla Structures service pack where new features had been added.

Now, the new shortcuts become available when you open Tekla Structures, unless you have manually defined keyboard shortcuts that conflict with the new shortcuts

TTSD-60173 Core

Quick Launch is now slightly faster to use.

TTSD-19069 Tools and components

Creating drawing plug-ins with headless Tekla Structures is now supported.

TTSD-51961 Tools and components

The sketch editor is now automatically closed if you open a drawing.

TTSD-58607 Tools and components

Previously, in some rare cases, Tekla Structures could freeze when copying or moving custom components. This has now been fixed.

TTSD-62621 Tools and components

Pressing F1 on a component opens again the help in help viewer when the offline help is available.

TTSD-52860 Numbering

In some very rare cases, the numbering of contour plates gave the same position number to non-identical plates. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-55336 Numbering

Rebar sets: In some cases, duplicate concrete parts caused some randomness when the parent part was chosen for each bar in rebar sets. This led to the rebar sets being continually regenerated, and becoming unnumbered, on saving or reopening the model. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-58004 Numbering

Option UDAs defined with default flag 1 were not saved in the database when the default value was entered using the property pane. This has now been fixed.

TTSD-62985 Numbering

In numbering, user-defined attributes (UDAs) that have been set to affect numbering and that have a zero value (0.0) are no longer seen as different from an empty value. This applies only to UDAs stored as a double data type, such as distance. For example, the Shortening UDA has a default value of 0.0 in some cases, and an empty value in other cases. Now, both values are seen as identical in numbering.

TTSD-58596 User interface

Now the following Help menu entries in upper right corner of Tekla Structures have language specific links:

- First steps course
- Basic courses and videos
- Contact support
- Contact sales

TTSD-56414 Import, export, interoperability (steel)

MIS export: Previously, bent plates were exported with an incorrect gross weight in the MIS list. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-56478 Import, export, interoperability (steel)

DSTV/NC: Earlier, in the DSTV export of plates, countersunk holes were created on the back plane when there were no other holes present. This issue has now been fixed, and the countersunk holes are now created on the front plane if there are no other holes preventing it.

TTSD-58593 Import, export, interoperability (steel)

DSTV/NC: Earlier, sawing angles were not written for tube profiles. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-59815 Import, export, interoperability (steel)

DSTV/NC: Now the NC file setting Curve detection is again able to determine whether a cut is circular.

TTSD-60251 Import, export, interoperability (steel)

DSTV/NC: In the NC export, the "weight by meter" and "Painting surface by meter" header elements have been changed. When CHS/pipe profiles are not unwrapped by XS_TUBE_UNWRAP_USE_PLATE_PROFILE_TYPE_IN_NC, the values used in the header are now based on the size of the profile and not the m2 area used for sheets. This means that the "weight by meter" for 2 different CHS profiles with the same plate thickness now gets different values where previously the value was the same.

TTSD-60431 Import, export, interoperability (steel)

DSTV/NC: Earlier, when you exported a bent plate with bolt holes going through several sections of bent plates, and you used plate work advanced options, holes through one of the sections were not exported if the width of the unfolded bent plate was bigger than the length. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-60489 Import, export, interoperability (steel)

DSTV/NC: The Chord tolerance option now works in checking circular cuts in the NC export.

TTSD-60588 Import, export, interoperability (steel)

DSTV/NC: Earlier, when you exported an L profile that had one of the legs cut, the export result was incorrect. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-61442 Import, export, interoperability (steel)

DSTV/NC: Earlier, when one of the I beam flanges was shortened, an unnecessary point was added to the AK block, interrupting the weld preparation at the flange side. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-62363 Import, export, interoperability (steel)

DSTV/NC: Earlier, the root opening angle of the welds applied on I profiles did not create a weld preparation in NC files. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-62536 Import, export, interoperability (steel)

DSTV/NC: Earlier, edge chamfers that were applied to any other section than the first section of a bent plate or polybeam were not shown in unfolded single part drawings or exported to NC files. This issue has now been fixed. The edge chamfers that might touch the corner of a polybeam or are too close to it, are still not considered when unfolding.

TTSD-62582 Import, export, interoperability (steel)

DSTV/NC: Earlier, when you exported a bent plate with contour marking, the bending lines were exported incorrectly to the NC file. This issue has now been fixed.

TSAC-7419 Import, export, interoperability (concrete)

BVBS export: The numbering check no longer causes the export to fail for PourObject and PourUnits.

TSAC-7449 Import, export, interoperability (concrete)

BVBS export: Sorting by position number now works in the exported file.
