Problem:

  • Tekla Structures does not start and the following dialog box opens:

Error message: Your computer's clock is inaccurate by at least 5 minutes. Check the date, time, and time zone settings on your computer.
  • Reserving a subscription license with the Tekla Subscription Tool fails and this message is shown:

Your computer’s clock is inaccurate by at least 5 minutes. Check the date, time, and time zone settings on your computer.

Your subscription license cannot be reserved because your computer's clock is inaccurate by at least 5 minutes.

Solution:

Check the date, time, and time zone settings on your computer and try again.

  1. To check your computer's clock synchronization, visit https://time.is.
    If your computer's clock is different than the time that is shown, change the time on your computer to match the time that is shown.
  2. To check the time zone, UTC time, and local time on your computer, use the following command line commands:
    • Time zone: tzutil /g
    • UTC time: wmic path win32_utctime
    • Local time: time
  3. If the the time zone, UTC time, and local time are not consistent with each other, change the settings so that the minutes and seconds of the local time are the same as the UTC time.

Note: If the date, time, and time zone settings are managed at the customer organization level, please contact your organization's IT department to resolve the issue.
