Create your Trimble Identity for Tekla products

You need a Trimble Identity to download Tekla products and to use your subscriptions. The Trimble Identity is connected to a company account (a user group for your company).

Signing in to your Trimble Identity requires multi-factor authentication (MFA) or 2-step verification. If your company has not enabled MFA for you, you can set up MFA methods when you create your Trimble Identity.

If you do not use MFA, 2-step verification is automatically enabled for you using the one-time passcode (OTP) method. One-time passcodes are temporary single-use codes that verify your identity each time that you sign in. When you sign in to your Trimble Identity, a verification code is sent to the email address that you used to create your Trimble Identity. You must enter the code to complete the sign-in process.

Create a Trimble Identity as the named contact for your company

If you do not already have any Trimble products, you must create a Trimble Identity when you purchase your first subscription or license. When your company purchases a subscription or license for a Tekla product, one user is designated as the named contact for the company.

If you are the named contact for your company, Trimble invites you to your company's account and sends you an email with an invitation to complete your Trimble Identity account creation. Create your Trimble Identity using the link in this email and make sure that you fill in all of the required user profile information.

After you have created your Trimble Identity, you receive an email to accept membership in your new account. As the named contact, you have administrator rights and can add other administrators and users. For more information, see Manage user accounts for Tekla products.

Create a Trimble Identity as a commercial user or administrator

If you are a commercial user of a Tekla product or an administrator who manages Tekla products for other users, create your Trimble Identity, then join your company's account as an employee.

  1. Create a Trimble Identity.

    For instructions, see Create a Trimble ID.

    We recommend that you use your company email address for your Trimble Identity.

    Ensure that you are able to access this email address now and in the future. The verification code for creating your Trimble Identity will be sent to this email address. If you use 2-step verification, verification codes for signing in to your Trimble Identity will also be sent to this email address.

    Warning: If you do not have access to the email address that you use to create your Trimble Identity, you will not be able to sign in using 2-step verification.
  2. Complete the profile details in your Online Profile for Tekla products.
    1. From the Profile type list, select Professional
    2. Fill in the required profile information.

      Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required.

    3. Click Save
  3. Join your company's account in one of the following ways:

    • If your company's administrator has invited you to the company's account, go to the Account and roles page of your Online Profile, then click Accept.
    • If you have not received an invitation, ask your company's administrator to invite you. You will receive the invitation in email or on the Account and roles page of your Online Profile. When you receive the invitation, accept the invitation.
    • If you have not received an invitation, send a request to join your company's account. On the Account and roles page of your Online Profile, select your company's account, then click Send request.

      If there are no accounts listed, your email address does not match any existing company's email domain. Contact your company's administrator for assistance.

    Note:

    The account where you have the employee role can also affect your access to your company's data stored in the cloud, such as Tekla Model Sharing models. Do not change between accounts unnecessarily.

    After you join your company's account as an employee, you can see your company's administrators on the Account and roles tab. On the Tekla licenses tab, you can see the subscriptions or licenses assigned to you. If you do not see a subscription or license that you need, contact your company's administrator.

You can use now use your Trimble Identity to install and license Trimble products.

Create a Trimble Identity and an Online Profile as a Tekla Student user

A Tekla Student user is an educational user who has a Tekla Student subscription. To start your Tekla Student subscription, create a Trimble Identity.

  1. Create a Trimble Identity.

    For instructions, see Create a Trimble ID.

    Ensure that you are able to access this email address now and in the future. The verification code for creating your Trimble Identity will be sent to this email address. If you use 2-step verification, verification codes for signing in to your Trimble Identity will also be sent to this email address.

    Warning: If you do not have access to the email address that you use to create your Trimble Identity, you will not be able to sign in using 2-step verification.
  2. Complete the profile details in your Online Profile for Tekla products.
    1. From the Profile type list, select Educational.
    2. Fill in the required profile information.

      Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required.

    3. Click Save.

You can use now use your Trimble Identity to activate your Tekla Student subscription and install Trimble products.
