Tekla Structures 2026 SP2.1

Tekla Structures 2026 SP2.1 was released to resolve an issue identified in a fix in Tekla Structures 2026 SP2 related to the XS_DISPLAY_ZERO_INCHES advanced option (TTSD-72818): When XS_DISPLAY_ZERO_INCHES was set to TRUE, weld sizes displayed an unwanted leading zero before fractions, for example, 0 1/4 instead of 1/4 (TTSD-76794). This issue affects users of the US Imperial environment and others using imperial units.

Users who need this fix should download Tekla Structures 2026 SP2.1.

Tekla Structures 2026 SP2.1 is a full installation package. Tekla Structures 2026 SP2.1 contains all the fixes fromTekla Structures 2026 SP2, along with the additional fix specified above.

AI-powered modeling with Tekla Model Assistant (Preview)

Tekla Structures 2026 SP2 introduces the Tekla Model Assistant tool as a Preview feature.

Tekla Model Assistant is an agentic AI tool integrated into Tekla Structures that uses natural language to perform modeling and drawing tasks. The assistant is available in the Tekla Model Assistant side pane window. Tekla Model Assistant is context-aware and allows you to create model objects, such as beams and pad footings, modify object properties, and automate drawing operations such as creating GA drawings.

For example, you can ask Tekla Model Assistant to Create a 3x3 grid with pad footings at every intersection, or Set class 5 on all HEA300 beams, or Add part marks to all columns in this drawing.

You can customize Tekla Model Assistant by defining rules and skills that are loaded from user settings, model, project, or firm folders. You can also use Tekla Model Assistant with Trimble Connect to download and import files from a Trimble Connect project and to upload PDF drawings.

To answer questions about how to use Tekla Structures, Tekla Model Assistant uses Trimble User Assistance information and breaks down complex requests into individual steps and displays its progress as it processes your requests. Tekla Model Assistant automatically signs you in using your Trimble Identity from your active Tekla Structures session.

For more information, see AI-powered modeling with Tekla Model Assistant (Preview) in Trimble User Assistance.

How Tekla Model Assistant works

  • The assistant reads your live Tekla Structures context, such as your selected objects and active views. This means you do not need to manually enter data or copy-paste information for the assistant to understand what you are working on.

  • The assistant breaks down complex requests, using the output of one tool as the input for the next to perform a chain of actions. It can handle workflows with multiple steps autonomously.

  • The assistant is agentic, but it is not fully independent. The assistant will ask for confirmation before executing risky operations, and it will only perform actions based on your instructions.

New AI platform for Trimble Assistant for Tekla

A new version of Trimble Assistant for Tekla is now available, powered by a proprietary Trimble AI platform. This version is currently in development.

The existing version of the Trimble Assistant for Tekla remains available as Trimble Assistant for Tekla (Classic). In the Trimble Assistant for Tekla side pane, you can change between the new version and the (Classic) version. Conversation history is not shared between the new version and the (Classic) version.

For more information, see Trimble Assistant for Tekla.

TAIA-482

Swap floating or docked views using the Ctrl key

You can now swap views by holding down the Ctrl key and dragging either a floating or a docked view over another docked view. The status bar displays a message when a swap is possible.

TTSD-73065

Improved logic for binding parts to levels

Parts and their associated details now react more consistently to elevation changes when the parts are bound to levels.

When a level is modified, the part moves to the new elevation based on its lowest level binding, and its height adjusts to the new elevation according to its binding. The other handles move together with the part.

Because the part moves, the associated objects, such as bolts and cuts, now follow the part correctly to the new elevation. Previously, only the handles moved but not the part. The updates happen automatically when grid elevations are changed or when you update level bindings in the property pane.

New geographical data storage location for Tekla Model Sharing, Trimble Connector, and Publish to Tekla Structural Designer (Preview)

The United Kingdom is now supported as a geographical data storage location for Tekla Model Sharing and Trimble Connector. You can select the United Kingdom as a data storage location when sharing a model or starting a new Trimble Connect project. Once the United Kingdom region is active in Trimble Connector, it will automatically appear as a selectable option.

The United Kingdom is also available as a model data storage location when you use the File > Export > Publish to Tekla Structural Designer (Preview) command in Tekla Structures.

STEP/IGES export: Bolt holes now extend completely through the material.

TTSD-75277 Import, export, interoperability (steel)

Tekla PowerFab Connector: Previously, profiles with swapped dimensions in Tekla Structures could produce the same numbering result, causing those objects to be incorrectly exported under the same mark. Because Tekla PowerFab does not process this correctly, the export functionality has been updated. Now, swapped profiles are automatically detected and only one is exported.

TTSD-75394 Import, export, interoperability (steel)

STEP/IGES export: Slotted bolt holes with an offset are now exported properly with the correct offset.

TTSD-75492 Import, export, interoperability (steel)

DSTV/NC:  Previously, when you exported a polybeam plate with cuts where the width was greater than the length, and the advanced option XS_USE_NEW_PLATE_DESIGNATION was set to a value that required switching the width and length, the bending lines were created in an incorrect position. This issue has been fixed.

TSAC-9860 Import, export, interoperability (concrete)

Export ELiPLAN file (68): Previously, some cuts and recesses were exported with a shift from their modeled positions. This issue has been fixed.

TSAC-9949 Import, export, interoperability (concrete)

Export ELiPLAN file (68): The accessory code for plotter objects is now exported only once per object in the record with the longest line segment. Previously, with complex cuts or openings translated into line segments, each line segment had its own accessory information.
