New AI platform for Trimble Assistant for Tekla

A new version of the Trimble Assistant for Tekla is now available, powered by a proprietary Trimble AI platform. This version is currently in development. For information about AI development at Trimble, see AI at Trimble.

The new Developer Assistant works best when using Tekla Structures versions 2026 SP2 and newer, or 2025 SP9 and newer. For example, the buttons for running and saving the macro work in these versions. If you are using older versions of Tekla Structures, the buttons are disabled and you will not be able to run or save the macro.

Transition from Trimble Assistant for Tekla (Classic)

The existing version of the assistant remains available as Trimble Assistant for Tekla (Classic). Both versions can be used simultaneously during the development period.

We plan to retire the Classic assistants at the end of September 2026. The chat histories will not be migrated to the new assistants, and they will be deleted when the Classic assistants are retired. Please save your chat histories by clicking “Download history” below and selecting a format (Markdown or JSON). You can also download your chat history by clicking the three horizontal lines at the top left of the page to open the left pane, and clicking “Download history” Download Icon.

Note the following regarding the transition:

  • Data isolation: Conversation history is not shared between the Classic and new versions.
  • Future migration: Trimble plans to migrate all users to the new AI platform. Users will be notified before the Classic version is retired.

User interface and feedback

The new assistant features an updated user interface consistent with other Trimble assistants. While the core functionality remains the same, the method for providing feedback has changed:

  • Thumbs up/down: Use the icons within the chat interface to rate responses.
  • Comments: Selecting an icon opens a text field where you can provide specific details about the response.

Providing feedback is optional but helps improve the accuracy and performance of the assistant.

 

Trimble Assistant for Tekla (Classic)

User Assistant

User Assistant helps you with your Tekla Structures, Tekla Structural Designer, Tekla Tedds, and Tekla PowerFab questions.

It provides accurate and concise answers based on product guides and support articles available in Trimble User Assistance. For more information, see the User Assistant documentation.

To use User Assistant, you need a valid commercial subscription license.

 

Developer Assistant

Developer Assistant helps you develop Tekla Structures applications using Tekla Structures Open API. Use it to find information on classes, methods, properties, and other API elements. This makes it easier to write and debug code that interacts with Tekla Structures. For more information, see the Developer Assistant documentation.

To use Developer Assistant, you need a valid Tekla Partners Program license or a Diamond license.
