Use the
Layout line tool to create layout lines. Layout lines are created between layout points.
-
On the Manage tab, click Layout manager.
-
Click
the Layout line
button.
Tekla Structures opens the
Layout line dialog and the Applications & components catalog in the side pane.
-
In the
Layout line dialog, define the properties of the layout line:
-
Enter
a name and a description for the layout line.
If you do not enter a
name, Layout manager adds a number as the name.
-
Enter
the diameter of the layout line in the Size box.
Layout manager uses the XS_IMPERIAL advanced option to determine the
units. Set XS_IMPERIAL to TRUE to use imperial units.
-
Select
a class for the layout line.
-
Enter a name for the
part that the Layout line tool creates in the model.
-
Select
a group from the Group Name list or create a new group by entering a name.
These groups are the groups that are listed in Layout manager.
-
Click Apply.
Note that the Is Field Line property is not available for the lines that you are defining in the
model. This property shows if a line is a field line that has been measured on the
construction site and imported to Tekla Structures.
-
Select the first layout point.
-
Select the second layout point.
The start
point and the end point cannot be in the same location.
The
layout line is created, and it is added to the group that you selected in
the Layout line dialog. To close the dialog, click OK.
