Create timber objects
Tools for timber detailing workflows are available in Tekla Structures as an extension package.
Download the extension package from Tekla Warehouse, on the Timber tools page. The extension package contains timber objects, screws, and marker tool.
Timber objects
The extension includes the basic timber objects, including timber beams, timber columns, timber plates, timber walls, and timber slabs as a ribbon tab. Each timber object type is modeled similarly to its steel or concrete counterpart, with properties and parameters specific to timber objects.

Screws
The extension includes screw groups for screw objects. Each screw group is modeled similarly to its bolt counterpart, with properties and parameters specific to screw objects. The package also includes screw presentation for drawings, providing an exact representation of the location and threading of the screw.

Marker tool
Use the marker tool to create 3D symbols and text on objects. You can communicate the lamella direction of mass timber panels with a 3D symbol to ensure alignment with the CNC operator, or indicate the bearing direction of slabs or metal grating.
