Create a building storey

Building storey is represented as a horizontal plane at a specified elevation within a building or a building section. The boundaries of buildings or building sections also define the boundaries for building storeys, depending on where the building storey is created.

On the Manage tab on the ribbon, click Building hierarchy.
In the Building hierarchy side pane, click the button.
Click the Create building storey command.
1. Select a building or a building section.
2. Pick a point at the building storey elevation in the model, or enter the elevation in the property pane, and then click the Insert building storey button in the property pane.
3. To create another building storey, pick another point.
4. To stop creating building storeys, press Esc.

Modify building storey properties

If the property pane is not open, double-click the building storey to open the properties.
Change the properties as needed.
Click Modify.

Building storey properties

Use the Building storey properties in the property pane to view and modify the properties of building storeys in a Building hierarchy.

If you have customized the property pane layout, the list of properties may be different.


Setting	Description
General
Name	User-definable name of a building storey The name can contain a maximum of 61 characters.
Elevation	Defines the top and bottom boundaries, from the elevation of the building storey to the elevation of the next building storey above
Offset	Defines the distance from the top surface of the load-bearing structure to the top surface of the finished floor
Bottom offset	Defines a certain distance below the building storey
Information	User-definable additional information

UDAs	Click the User-defined attributes button to open the user-defined attributes (UDAs) of the building storey. UDAs provide additional information about the building storey.
