CATALOG NAME: Bent Plate
TYPE: PART

This Custom Component creates a bent plate in your model that can be used on hip beams, valley beams, ridge beams etc.

Since this bent plate is created using the Polybeam command, you cannot show it as a Partial profile in a Plan drawing because the reference line of a polybeam is along the 3 points used to create it. If you add this bent plate to your model and need to show it as a partial profile, you can set the Create Partial Profile field to Yes.

This will create a phantom part  that matches the shape of the part it is attached to. You can control the length of the profile, the class, and move it in either direction along the bent plate.

Be careful when moving this phantom part along the bent plate if the bent plate is shop attached and you have set Attached or Loose? to Attached. Since this phantom part becomes a part of the assembly when attached, it will affect numbering. Either move the phantom parts on all alike assemblies or don't move any, to make sure alike assemblies get the same Assembly mark.

Attached or Loose?

This option should be used to match the condition of bent plate. If the bent plate is attached in the field, then this setting should be Loose. If it is attached in the shop, then this setting should be Attached. If this setting doesn't match the condition of the bent plate, then the drawing settings provided (see section below) will not work as intended.

In the User-defined attributes of the phantom part, it is set to Existing (so it won't be shown in Reports or be used in Drawing Wizards).
