Manage project revisions and view metrics

The Project Wiki allows you to view and modify the project summary, view revision history, record revisions and view project metrics.

In the Project Wiki dialog box, you can:

  • Manage the parameters that are included in the output reports on the Project Summary page.

  • Track revision history on the Revisions page.

  • View the time at which each revision was started and last saved on the Sessions page.

  • View the changes associated with each revision on the Changes page.

  • View statistics related to the model size on the Metrics page and its subpages.

  • Manually record notes, to dos etc. on the Model Info page.

View and modify project summary

You set the initial project summary as you create a new project. If you want to change the project summary details later, see the following instructions.

  1. On the Home tab, click Project Wiki.

    The Project Wiki dialog box opens.

  2. On the Project Summary page, modify the project details according to your needs.
  3. Click OK.

Record revisions

  1. Save the project before recording revisions.
  2. In the file menu, click Start Revision.

    The Start Revision dialog box opens.

  3. Type the revision ID and add additional notes related to the revision according to your needs.
  4. In order to keep a record of the changes made in the revision, select the Track Changes option.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Continue to develop the model and save the model under a new name.
  7. Repeat steps 2–5 as required.

View revisions

If you have have opted to record revisions you can view the information for each revision in the Project Wiki as follows:

  1. On the Home tab, click Project Wiki.

    The Project Wiki dialog box opens.

  2. Select Revisions.
    The changes associated with each revision ID are displayed.

Apply revision ID as an attribute for each modified element

  1. On the Home tab, click Project Wiki.
  2. Select Changes.
  3. Select an appropriate UDA from the Revision Attribute droplist.
  4. Either:
    1. Click Apply automatically in order for the revision ID to be automatically recorded against the selected UDA on each change, or
    2. Click Apply to manually record the revision ID against the selected UDA for the currently elements listed in the dialog.
  5. Click OK.

View sessions

  1. On the Home tab, click Project Wiki.
  2. Select Sessions
    The dates and times of each modeling session are displayed, with the name of the user and the program version. Any model imports are also recorded.

View changes

Changes are recorded for each model revision, provided that when you start the revision you select the Track Changes option.
  1. On the Home tab, click Project Wiki.
  2. Select Changes
  3. Select the Revision version.
    Each changed element is listed, with the type of change, the previous, and new value.
Note: If required you can add the Revision ID as a UDA to each element that has been changed in the current revision. For details, see the Apply revision ID as an attribute for each modified element section above.

View metrics

  1. On the Home tab, click Project Wiki.
  2. Select Metrics.
  3. Select an individual metric.
    The total numbers of objects in the model for the selected metric is displayed.

View and modify model notes, assumptions etc.

You can manually add assumptions, status, to dos and notes via the Model Info page in Project Wiki.

  1. On the Home tab, click Project Wiki.

    The Project Wiki dialog box opens.

  2. On the Model Info page, enter the information you want to record according to your needs.
  3. Click OK.
