Retaining basement wall design (EN1992/EN1997)

This video shows the Tekla Tedds Retaining basement wall analysis and design calculation to the Eurocode.

The calculation checks the design of a reinforced concrete braced basement wall with a fixed or pinned base and a pinned top. A supporting strip footing can also be included.

The basement wall may be subject to vertical loads and moments from the structure above (dead, live, live roof, rain, snow, and wind), and may also be subject to surcharge loads (permanent and variable) applied to the top of the retained soil, lateral earth pressures and wind loads.
