TTSD-52738 Steel components

Previously, when you added manually created stanchions and Railings (77) component to a custom component and used the Default or Use all stanchion selection option, Tekla Structures might have stopped working unexpectedly, depending the content of the custom component. This has now been fixed.

We recommend to use the Use selected option in the case when all selected stanchions are to be used, even though in a well-define case the Default option produces identical results.

TTSD-26939 Import, export, interoperability

IFC2x3 export: The export consumed excess amount of memory on each export without releasing it. Only reopening Tekla Structures released the memory. This issue has now been fixed, and the export no longer consumes excess amount of memory.

TTSD-45358 Import, export, interoperability

Import from Tekla Structural Designer: When transferring design intent reinforcement, in some cases as a result of AutoDesign, no reinforcement was created in wall or column bases, and the whole import process was stopped.
This issue has now been fixed and the import process will now be completed skipping those bases with no reinforcement.

TTSD-46875 Import, export, interoperability

IFC2x3 export: Previously, when  you used the export type Steel fabrication view, and the weld type was None or the weld size was 0 (welds used as "glue" for creating assemblies), the welds were reported as failures in the export log. Now, if the weld type is None or the size is 0, the welds are not included in the export.

TTSD-47406 Import, export, interoperability

Importing .step files: When you import a .step file to the shape catalog and then use the shape for an item in Tekla Structures, the object rendering now works correctly.

TTSD-50359 Import, export, interoperability

IFC2x3 export: The export of the radial grids has been improved.

TTSD-50544 Import, export, interoperability

IFC4 export : The export of the rebar sets inside the rebar assemblies now writes the bar properties into the IFC file. Previously, some properties were missing.

TTSD-50545 Import, export, interoperability

IFC4 export: Reinforcing bars belonging to a rebar assembly are no longer exported if the Assemblies and Reinforcing bars options are not selected in the IFC4 export dialog box.

TTSD-50792 Import, export, interoperability

IFC4 export:  The IFC4 export Location by option Work plane now works. This option exports the model relative to the current work plane coordinate system.

TTSD-50944, TTSD-53017 Import, export, interoperability

IF4 and IFC2x3 export: The exports now handle the project UDAs correctly.

TTSD-51211 Import, export, interoperability

IFC4 export: Rebar sets are now exported correctly with a subtype defined in the PredefinedType property. Now SPACEBAR is reported as PredefinedType= USERDEFINED and ObjectType= SPACEBAR, since it is not supported in the IFC4.0 export.

TTSD-51224 Import, export, interoperability

IFC4 export: The mapping of the classification properties to IFC has been fixed, and now it produces similar output to the IFC2x3 export. There is one exception: the UDA's name is written as IFCClassification.Name instead of Source.

TTSD-51343 Import, export, interoperability

Export drawings as DWG/DXF: The export did not work properly if imperial scale was used. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-51673 Import, export, interoperability

IFC4 export: The curved beam export sometimes produced incorrect geometry. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-51849 Import, export, interoperability

IFC4 export: In certain situations, when you export rebar sets, the Pset_ReinforcingBarCommon properties were missing in the exported file. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-51985 Import, export, interoperability

IFC export: The following entity types have been added in the Property Set Definitions dialog box for both IFC2x3 and IFC4 export, with the supported Tekla Structures object properties:
IFCBearing
IFCBridgePart
IFCChimney

TTSD-52017, TTSD-53471 Import, export, interoperability

IFC export: When parts, assemblies, pour objects, or pour units are overwritten as IFCRamp, they are now correctly exported to IFC4 and IFC2x3.

TTSD-52076 Import, export, interoperability

IFC2x3 export: Now binding the IFC entity IfcStair to parts is supported in additional property sets.

TTSD-52180 Import, export, interoperability

Reference models: Previously, when you clicked the Show button (eye icon) for a reference model group, a drop down listing all reference models in the group was shown. When there were a lot of reference model groups, clicking the Show button for each group one by one sometimes caused an application error.

Now, when you click the Show button for a group, the list of the included reference models is no longer displayed, and without this functionality, the application error no longer occurs.

TTSD-52220 Import, export, interoperability

IFC4 export: Rebar assembly rebars are no longer exported as a rebar set. Instead, the rebar assembly export is obeying the  XS_EXPORT_IFC_REBASET_INDIVIDUAL_BARS advanced option value. When this advanced option is set to FALSE, the rebar set groups inside rebar assemblies are exported, and when TRUE, the individual bars are exported.

TTSD-52363 Import, export, interoperability

IFC4 export: The export now works correctly with both of the XS_EXPORT_IFC_REBARSET_INDIVIDUAL_BARS values, TRUE and FALSE, when you export the selected rebar set (orphan or not).

TTSD-52418 Import, export, interoperability

IFC2x3 and IFC4 export: When you exported rebar set groups (XS_EXPORT_IFC_REBARSET_INDIVIDUAL_BARS=FALSE), UDAs were not exported correctly with the exported group. Now the UDAs set at different levels (for the whole rebar set or for the individual rebars) are exported correctly with the rebar set group.

TTSD-52614 Import, export, interoperability

IFC4 export: When a Tekla Structures part has been defined as IfcBearing, this is now shown in the exported IFC files.

TTSD-52857 Import, export, interoperability

IFC4 export: Plates and slabs with corner chamfer Dz1 and Dz2 values that are non-zero but same for all points are now exported correctly.

TTSD-53101 Import, export, interoperability

IFC export: Rebar set modifier UDAs are now exported correctly to IFC4 and IFC2x3. This now works correctly both when exporting groups (XS_EXPORT_IFC_REBARSET_INDIVIDUAL_BARS=FALSE) and individual bars (XS_EXPORT_IFC_REBARSET_INDIVIDUAL_BARS=TRUE). Previously, the exported rebars would not have any UDA values when the UDA values were exported as a property set.

TTSD-53114 Import, export, interoperability

Import from Tekla Structural Designer: When transferring design intent reinforcement for the General slab type, the whole import process failed without any specific message in the process log.
This issue has now been fixed and the import process will now be completed with proper invalid material warnings and error log if applicable.

TTSD-53190 Import, export, interoperability

Reference models: Previously, some reinforcing bars might have been missing from an imported IFC reference model. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-53191 Import, export, interoperability

IFC2x3 export: A schema validation error occurred after you pressed the View button on the Advanced tab in the export dialog box to view property set definitions. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-53465 Import, export, interoperability

Trimble Connector: When exporting a model from Trimble Connector, sometimes the folder path could not be retrieved correctly from the Europe server. This issue has now been fixed.

TPLED-157 Templates and reports

Template Editor: In multi-screen setup, when the main screen is set to be lower than the other screens, switching the toolbar ON/OFF does not work. This issue has now been fixed.

TPLED-251 Templates and reports

Template Editor: In multi-screen setup, the dialog boxes always appeared on the main screen. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-53157 Templates and reports

Template Editor: Selecting an attribute with a long full name (like ASSEMBLY.LOCATION_BREAKDOWN_STRUCTURE.LBS_FLOOR_
ELEVATION_BASEPOINT in a PART row) caused an application error in the Select attribute dialog box. This issue has now been fixed, and the maximum length allowed for the attribute in the dialog box is now 127 characters.

TSAC-6932 Drawings

View-specific dimensioning: Now the Filter dimensioning method also works for rebars inside a rebar assembly.

TTSD-45705 Drawings

Linking drawings now works more reliably.

TTSD-45729 Drawings

Document manager: The document selections that you make in Document manager are now kept during the multi-user save.

TTSD-46253 Drawings

Multidrawings: Multidrawings no longer get extra marks that are not present in the original drawing.

TTSD-47963 Drawings

Multidrawings: Surface treatment is now correctly shown in single-part drawings in multidrawings.

TTSD-50169 Drawings

Printing: If a drawing file name had an illegal character, it could not be printed. In this case, the problem was caused by the new line character "\n" included in the applied advanced option. The list of characters that Tekla Structures replaces with an underscore has been expanded. The new line character is now replaced by "_", and creating the PDF now succeeds.

Check the file naming conventions provided by Microsoft: "Naming Files, Paths, and Namespaces".

TTSD-52204 Drawings

When dimensions were copied to a view that had been moved to another drawing, and XS_SCALE_COPIED_OR_MOVED_OBJECTS_IN_DRAWINGS was set to TRUE, the dimensions were not shown in the reopened drawing. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-52387 Drawings

Reference models in drawings: A triangle clipping support was added to make sure that the text triangles are correctly handled both inside and outside the drawing view boundary box or when they are crossed by the view boundary box.

TTSD-52945 Drawings

FOG rendering: Drawing view frames were sometimes incorrectly visualized when using the FOG rendering option. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-53177 Drawings

Fabrication drawings: With the fabrication drawing creation functionality, it is now possible to create cast unit drawings of steel embeds belonging to a cast unit also with the Precast concrete detailing license. This was not possible when the functionality was released to Tekla Structures version 2022.

TTSD-44792 System and options

Previously, using the Save as command did not sometimes work correctly if the original model was created in Tekla Structures 2017 or older. This has now been fixed.

TTSD-50012 Tekla Model Sharing

When you try to reserve the next Write out while being offline, Tekla Model Sharing now shows a proper warning message instead of an Unhandled exception message.

TTSD-43244 Reinforcement

Rebar sets: Individual bars and bar groups in rebar sets can now be selected by GUID when you use the Select by identifier command or the Model search toolbar.

TTSD-46795 Reinforcement

Rebar sets: If a rebar set guideline or modifier contained a geometric segment that was shorter than 250 mm, the direction arrow was displayed pointing in the wrong direction. This issue has been fixed so that the arrow is in the correct direction and is reduced in size to fit the segment.

TTSD-52207 Reinforcement

Rebar sets: Tekla Structures might unexpectedly stop working if the rebar set spacing offsets were too large for the guideline length and a spacing override with automatic offsets was applied to the rebar set. This issue has now been fixed and the offsets on the property modifier spacing are set to zero.

TTSD-52445 Reinforcement

Rebar sets: Automatic bar grouping for rebar sets has been enhanced to merge groups of bars that become alike after rounding has been applied.

TTSD-52544 Reinforcement

Rebar sets: In rebar set bar spacing, if the actual spacing value differed from the target spacing value by a large amount, then the actual value rather than the target value was reported for CC_TARGET. Also, any spacing override was ignored in this report property, instead the rebar set spacing was always used. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-52583 Reinforcement

Rebar sets: An issue was fixed where the numbering of rebar set bars changed unnecessarily when new bars were added to the rebar set.

TTSD-53399 Reinforcement

Rebar sets: A problem was fixed with rebar set property modifier spacing overrides. If the property modifier started at or beyond the start of the guideline, the direction of the spacing distribution was wrong.
Also, negative start and end offsets now work with guidelines and property modifiers if Affect whole bar plane is set to Yes.

TTSD-53520 Reinforcement

In complex rebar set cases, the advanced option XS_REBARSET_ENABLE_BAR_GROUPING_WHEN_SPACING_DIFFERS now works more reliably when set to FALSE.

TTSD-53521 Reinforcement

Rebar sets: The center-to-center spacing values (shown by the template attributes starting with CC) are now all derived from the input values and are the spacings along the guideline. Previously, the values were calculated between bar geometry and were susceptible to inaccuracy in complex cases.

TTSD-53593 Reinforcement

Rebar sets: Previously, if a rebar set or property modifier was manually attached to a concrete part, and then the concrete part was copied, the newly created rebar set or property modifier was still attached to the original part. If the part was copied multiple times, this resulted in duplicate rebar sets or property modifiers being created. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-53912 Reinforcement

Rebar sets: An issue related to copying was fixed. This issue might occur if you copied a rebar set that was manually attached to a concrete part or that had a property modifier manually attached to a part, then undid the copying, and then copied the rebar set again.

TSAC-6877 Modeling

Previously, when placing surface treatment attributes and the product_finishes.dat file in the XS_PROJECT or in the model folder, the No paint area component did not load the subtype of the surface treatment correctly. This has now been fixed.

TTSD-20503 Modeling

Previously, if you modified a selection filter and clicked Apply or OK in the Selection Filter dialog box, standard was shown instead of blank for the applied selection filter on the Selecting toolbar. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-37958 Modeling

Previously, when you used the Tab key to cycle through the different snap point options, it did not work correctly.
This has now been fixed, and the Tab key works correctly with the create commands.

TTSD-52713 Modeling

Previously, when you copied a secondary steel part within its original assembly, the secondary part always became part of the assembly. This has now been prevented when the part has bolts or welds.

TTSD-52971 Modeling

When objects.inp was edited by changing the user-defined attribute type after the values were set, the UDA values of the incorrect type were not reported correctly, and you could not fix them.

Now Diagnose & repair detects and fixes the the incorrect type by reverting the value to the default value.

TTSD-53164 Modeling

You can now lock pour units using the Lock command.

TTSD-53327 Modeling

Building hierarchy properties for building and level are now saved properly.

TTSD-53384 Modeling

Building hierarchy: The Levels & hierarchies command is no longer available in File > Project properties. You can now find the commands related to building hierarchy on the Manage tab.

TTSD-53449 Modeling

Building hierarchy: All the levels that you select in the table in the Building hierarchy dialog box are now deleted when you click the delete button.

TTSD-53531 Modeling

Previously, in some cases, when a selection filter was saved, Tekla Structures stopped working unexpectedly. Now, when you save a selection filter, it ignores folders and files with unknown character sets, and Tekla Structures keeps working.

TTSD-53843 Modeling

Building hierarchy: Unassigned spaces are now shown in the hierarchy tree structure in the Building hierarchy dialog box only if there are unassigned spaces in the model.

TTSD-45694 Core

Previously, opening some 2016i and earlier models with 2017 and newer versions could fail with Conversion to runtime IDs failed message in log, caused by one or more illegal IDs in the database. This has now been fixed.

TTSD-49370 Numbering

Non-geometrical updates, such as changing the bolt type from Site to Workshop, now mark bolts as modified.

TTSD-43617 Import, export, interoperability (steel)

NC/DSTV: Earlier, depending on how the bent plate was created, the exported KA block only showed short bending lines or sometimes no lines at all. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-50317 Import, export, interoperability (steel)

NC/DSTV: Earlier, when you used the DSTV export for a CC profile, depending on the bolt rotation, the BO block could be created on the front or back profile face, causing missing holes in certain viewers. This issue has now been fixed, and the BO block for such holes is always created on the back profile face.

TTSD-51155 Import, export, interoperability (steel)

NC/DSTV: Earlier, when you exported an I beam or an RHS beam with countersunk bolts going through both flanges, countersunk information was not written to the NC file. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-51573 Import, export, interoperability (steel)

NC/DSTV: Earlier, studs that were modeled on the back plane of a C profile were exported on the front plane. This issue has now been fixed.

TSAC-6828 Import, export, interoperability (concrete)

Export Unitechnik (79): You can now specify a representation for the exported cutpart formers. The new Cutpart former setting is located on the Symbols tab, and the options are As corner symbols and As centerline

TSAC-6832 Import, export, interoperability (concrete)

BVBS export: Rebar objects were in some cases evaluated as a 3D rebar in calculations. This issue has now been fixed.
