2021 SP2: Improvements to Workflow - New Properties Window Validation and Tooltips

We are always looking for ways to improve and simplify your workflow using Tekla Structural Designer. Here are some improvements to the Properties Window for validation of input and clarity of settings we think you will like.

  • [TSD-9110] - NEW - Input Warning/ Error Status Flagging & Tooltips

Properties with problematic/ invalid input are now clearly indicated by highlighting in orange for a warning status and red for an error. In addition, the tooltips displayed when the cursor is moved over such a property are enhanced with more information giving; the current value, the valid range and any other useful information as appropriate.

    • While the examples shown below are for Base Plate properties, this enhancement applies to properties for all entities.

  • [TSD-9299] - Closed Property Groups - Input Warning/ Error Status Flagging

Validation issues are also flagged clearly for closed property groups containing properties with warnings or errors as shown below - again a tooltip gives more information on the issue.

    • While the example shown below is for Base Plate properties, this enhancement applies to properties for all entities.
  • NEW - Cursor tooltips are also added for Properties in general, giving the full property name and current value, which is very useful for properties with longer names/ values that can be incompletely displayed, depending on the property window size and column widths.
