Orthotropic Properties

This new feature enables different stiffnesses to be set for the two orthogonal (X and Y) directions of slabs, thus making them orthotropic. This can model slab elements that exhibit orthotropic material properties and are assumed to behave in a predominantly “one-way spanning” manner, such as precast slab units, profiled steel decking, timber decks on floor joists, and cross-laminated timber (CLT) elements.

Base plate design enhancements

Enhancements in Base Plate Design (Eurocode). Tekla Structural Designer now includes design checks for minor shear check and uplift. This enhancement allows design to be performed directly within Tekla Structural Designer and avoids the need to export to another program. Minor and biaxial shear is now a valid design condition in the Shear and Weld design checks. Uplift (axial tension) is now a valid design condition in the design checks.
