Highlights of Tekla Structures 2022

More intelligent fabrication drawing creation

Create single-part, assembly, and cast unit drawings more efficiently. Expanding on Tekla Structures in-product intelligence, you can now enjoy a more efficient and straightforward way of creating fabrication assembly drawings. Investments in the model are carried through to the fast, effective, and accurate production of documentation.

Rebar now handled as cage assemblies

Building off Tekla Structures core detailing strengths, rebar cages can now be created using the assembly functionality, similarly to steel and precast elements. Primarily used in Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) or offsite construction workflows, you can now detail, number, report, document, and export rebar cages, couplers, and embeds.

Simpler rebar spacing controls

Enjoy a seamless spacing workflow in all reinforcement commands. Based on your unanimous feedback, the rebar spacing workflow has been further simplified by implementing the same spacing controls you use on rebar groups.

Easier reinforcing of complex geometry

With the new leg surface feature, you can automatically create rebar sets across the concrete face, no matter the complexity of the shape you’ve made. This process utilizes the automatically created horizontal and vertical layers, which you can edit with standard editing commands.

New IFC4 exports

You can add new fabrication and object data created for the rebar assemblies to IFC4 exports. Subtypes are now available in the property pane giving further categorization possibilities to your IFC4 export. The bridge-specific IFC4 export capability has been added, allowing model-based digital workflows for bridge design and construction.

More complex geometries with the Bridge Creator

The Bridge Creator extension has improved parabolic variation. Now the longitudinal parabolic variation allows the creation of even more complex geometries. Bridge engineers can create parabolic where the profile varies throughout its length based on parabolic equations.

Create section along any line drawing of your bridge

Now you can create a section view drawing along any predefined path. This fulfills a very common and used overall visualization drawing of the entire bridge. This section or elevation can be made along any line, even clothoids or snake type polycurves.
