Share local or network content using Tekla Warehouse

You can share collections that are on your computer or on a network drive using Tekla Warehouse.

You can create and use local or network collections when you want to control the access rights of your content. You can use your company network or a commercial file storage and synchronization service to share content.

Share local content on your computer

Create a new folder for shared content on your computer.

For example: C:\Users\username\sharing\My_new_folder
Copy the file path of the folder for shared content to the clipboard.
In Tekla Warehouse, create a local or network collection as instructed in Create a collection in Tekla Warehouse.
1. Enter a name for the collection.
2. Paste the file path of the folder for shared content from the clipboard.
3. To create the collection, click Add.
Add the content that you want to share to the collection as instructed in Uploading content to Tekla Warehouse.
Share the collections.json file with the users.

The file is located in C:\Users\Public\Documents\Tekla\Tekla Warehouse\.
Instruct the other users to save the collections.json file in the C:\Users\Public\Documents\Tekla\Tekla Warehouse\ folder on their computers.

Share local content using a file storage and synchronization service

Create a new folder for shared content on your computer.

For example: C:\Users\username\sharing\My_new_folder
Copy the file path of the folder for shared content to the clipboard.
In Tekla Warehouse, create a local or network collection as instructed in Create a collection in Tekla Warehouse.
1. Enter a name for the collection.
2. Paste the file path of the folder for shared content from the clipboard.
3. To create the collection, click Add.
Add the content that you want to share to the collection as instructed in Uploading content to Tekla Warehouse.
Go to the file storage and synchronization service that you want to use for sharing.
Share your folder for shared content with the selected users.
Instruct the users to create a collection in Tekla Warehouse using the shared folder path.

Share content on a network drive

Create a new folder for shared content on your company network.
Ensure that the access rights of the shared folder allow the other users to access the folder.
In Tekla Warehouse, create a local or network collection as instructed in Create a collection in Tekla Warehouse.
1. Enter a name for the collection.
2. Paste the copied folder path from the clipboard.
3. To create the collection, click Add.
Add the content that you want to share to the collection as instructed in Uploading content to Tekla Warehouse.
Give the file path of the folder for shared content to the users.
Instruct the users to create a network collection in Tekla Warehouse using the folder path.
