Create a collection in Tekla Warehouse

Collections group content together and help you manage the content in Tekla Warehouse. To upload content to Tekla Warehouse, create an online, network, or local collection.

You can create online collections as an individual or as an organization. Online collections can be private or public.

You can create and use local or network collections when you want to avoid online cloud sharing, or when you want to control the access rights of your content.

Create an online collection as an individual

Sign in to Tekla Warehouse.
Go to My Warehouse > My collections.
Click New collection.
To create the collection as an individual, select Myself.
Define the visibility of the collection:
- Private: only you or your organization can view, search, modify, and download content in this collection.
- Public: anyone can view and search content in this collection. Only users that are signed in to Tekla Warehouse can download content from this collection.
Enter a name and description for the collection.
(Optional) Add a thumbnail for the collection.
Click Create.

Create an online collection as an organization

To create a collection as an organization in Tekla Warehouse, you must belong to the organization as an employee or an external license user, and have the Tekla Warehouse Content Editor role assigned to you.

Before you begin, create a Trimble Identity if you do not already have one. We recommend that you use your company email address for your Trimble Identity.

Ensure that your Trimble Identity is associated with the organization and that you have the Tekla Warehouse Content Editor role.

Sign in to Tekla Warehouse.
Go to My Warehouse > My collections.
Click New collection.
To create the collection as an organization, select Organization.
Define the visibility of the collection:
- Private: only you or your organization can view, search, modify, and download content in this collection.
- Public: anyone can view and search content in this collection. Only users that are signed in to Tekla Warehouse can download content from this collection.
Enter a name and description for the collection.
(Optional) Add a thumbnail for the collection.
Click Create.

If the collection visibility is Private, change the collection visibility to Public when you are ready to publish the content to all Tekla Warehouse users.

Create a local or network collection

To use a local or network folder as a collection, create a local or network collection.

Sign in to Tekla Warehouse.

If you want to create an online collection as an organization, ensure that your Trimble Identity has been associated with the organization.
Go to My Warehouse > My collections.
Click Local and network collections.
Click Create local or network collection.
Enter a name and folder location for the collection.
Click Add.
