Tekla on-premises license server installation for administrators

In an environment with multiple licenses and users, you install the license server in your company network, which allows for more flexible and efficient use of your licenses.

Before users can start using Tekla Structures with on-premises licenses, you must:

  • Install and set up a license server on a computer.

    There are two installation methods:

    • Automatic default installation: Use automatic installation for a standard setup using the default options. Automatic installation is recommended.

    • Manual installation: Use manual installation if the default settings for automatic installation do not meet your needs. For example, if you need to change the license sever host name use a port other than default TCP/IP port 27007, use manual installation.

      When you use manual installation, you must separately install the license server, modify the license file, configure the license service, and start the server software. Use manual installation only if you are an advanced user of FlexNet or FlexIm licensing.

  • Save the entitlement certificate.
  • Activate the licenses.
  • Connect Tekla Structures on each client computer to the license server by providing the license server hostname and port to users, through a customized Tekla Structures installation, or using manual installation.
