Drawing grid and grid line properties

Use the grid and grid line properties to view and modify the grid settings in drawings.

To set the automatic view-specific grid properties in single-part, assembly and cast unit drawings: On the Drawings & reports tab, click Drawing properties and select the drawing type. Click View creation in the options tree on the left, select the view and the properties that you want to change, and click View properties. Now click Grid in the options tree, and adjust the settings as required.
To set the automatic drawing-specific grid properties in general arrangement drawing: On the Drawings & reports tab, click Drawing properties and select the drawing type. Click Grid..., and adjust the settings as required.
To modify the drawing-specific grid properties in a general arrangement drawing: Double-click the drawing background, click Grid..., and adjust the settings as required.
To modify the view-specific grid properties: Double-click a drawing view frame and click Grid in the options tree, and adjust the settings as required.
To modify the grid or grid line properties in an open drawing, double-click the grid or the grid line. Ensure that you have the correct selection switch active: To modify grids, use the selection switch , and to modify grid lines, use .
To open the grid or grid line properties in an open drawing, go to Quick Launch, type grid, and select Drawing grid properties or Drawing grid line properties in the list.


Option	Description
Grid	Visible shows the grids. Not visible does not show the grids. This option is only available in drawing and view level properties. Only grid labels visible shows only the grid label and a short section of the grid line. The length of the displayed grid line depends on the value entered in the Text placing box. In the drawing level, this option is only available for general arrangement drawings. On the view and object level this option is available for all types of drawings.
Text placing	Select the sides to show the grid labels, and set the length of the grid line extension (the distance between the end of the grid line and the text).
Grid line: Color and Type	Define the grid line color and type.
Text: Color, Height, Font and Frame	Define the grid label text color, height, font and frame.
