Bolt properties in drawings
Use the options in bolt properties to check or change the bolt content and appearance.
To go to bolt properties:
- On the Drawings & reports tab, click , select the drawing type and navigate to bolt properties.
- In an open drawing, double-click the drawing view frame and select Bolt in the options tree.
- In an open drawing, double-click the drawing background, and navigate to bolt properties.
- Double-click a bolt in an open drawing.
- In an open drawing, go to Quick Launch, start typing bolt properties, and select Drawing bolt properties in the list.
The following table list all bolt settings on all property levels (drawing, view, object). All bolt properties do not contain all of the settings listed below.

Solid/Symbol or Bolt representation |
The options are solid, exact solid, Symbol, Symbol2, Symbol3, DIN symbol, and User-defined symbol. DIN symbol corresponds to German standards (DIN). The only DIN symbols you can control are in the following symbols in the xsteel.sym file:
User-defined symbol is a symbol that has been created in Symbol Editor. |
Symbol content |
Indicates whether to include the Hole and Axis symbols in the drawing. |
Visibility of bolts |
These settings are not available in object level bolt
properties. Control the visibility of bolts In main parts, In secondary parts and In sub-assemblies separately. Visible shows bolt group holes in main parts or secondary parts. Not visible hides them. In assembly drawings you can also define whether to show or hide bolt group holes in sub-assemblies. |
