Drawing cloning improvements

Cloning is used frequently in drawings for creating fabrication drawings. The cloning of views, part marks, weld marks, and dimensions is now more reliable and creates higher quality drawings. The cloning is also faster.

Examples of cloning improvements

  • The main views now preserve the shortening value, and the section views keep their location set in the source drawing.

See an example before and after.

  • All views now preserve their location as set in the cloning template. Also the associativity of all annotations is preserved, and the amount of dimensions in the source drawing and cloned drawings is the same.

See an example before and after.

  • All section views in a cloned drawing preserve the same location as in the source drawing, and all linked views are cloned properly. Also all annotations are cloned and placed properly in the cloned drawing.

See an example before and after.

  • Cloning of weld marks has been improved to avoid generation of extra marks that do not exist in the source drawing.

See an example before and after.

  • Rebar marks now preserve their leader line type in a cloned drawing.

See an example before and after.

  • All rebar marks are now placed nicely within the drawing view frame boundaries.

See an example before and after.

  • Rebar marks now preserve their location, and point directly at the associated rebar.

See an example before and after.

  • Part marks now preserve their location and the associativity to the appropriate object. Dimensions and bolt marks also preserve their associativity.

See an example before and after.

  • Amount of drawing views and annotations as well as their placement is the same as in a source drawing.

See an example before and after.

  • Merged bolt marks are now preserved in a cloned drawing, and bolt dimensions preserve associativity with the appropriate objects.

See an example before and after.

  • Manually created dimensions are now cloned even when some dimension points are not properly associated.

See an example before and after.

  • Manually created dimensions are now cloned so that the correct associativity and location are preserved.

See an example before and after.

  • Integrated dimensions are now cloned so that the correct associativity and location are preserved.

See first example before and after.

See second example before and after.

  • Dimension tags preserve their content in a cloned drawing, section views preserve their location defined in a cloning template, and drawing 3D views are cloned properly.

See an example before and after.

Removed XS_CREATE_MISSING_MARKS_IN_INTELLIGENT_CLONING

You no longer need to set the advanced option XS_CREATE_MISSING_MARKS_IN_INTELLIGENT_CLONING to create marks to a cloned drawing also for parts that could not be mapped to the cloning template drawing. The functionality is already available in the cloning settings (Other marks > Create) and in the Master Drawing Catalog cloning settings (Marks > Create).
