Run the snow wizard (ASCE 7)

To run the ASCE 7 version of the snow wizard you should firstly ensure the snow loading code has been set as ASCE 7 in Home > Model Settings > Design Codes, then:
  1. On the Load tab, click Snow Load > Snow wizard...
  2. On the Basic Data page of the snow wizard, define the basic data.
  3. Click Loadcases to access the second page. From here you specify the snow loadcases that you want to generate, and the number of drift directions to be considered.
  4. Click OK.
The basic snow data and snow loadcases are set up, and the snow loads within the balanced snow loadcase are created.
Note: Loads in drift snow loadcases are not created and must therefore be manually applied. For more information, see Apply loads to loadcases on completion of the snow wizard.

Run the snow wizard (Eurocode)

To run the snow wizard:

To run the Eurocode version of the snow wizard you should firstly ensure the correct snow loading code national annex has been set in Home > Model Settings > Design Codes, then:

  1. On the Load tab, click Snow Load > Snow wizard...
  2. On the Basic Data page of the snow wizard, define the basic data.
  3. Click Loadcases to access the second page. From here you specify the snow loadcases that you want to generate, and the number of drift directions to be considered.
  4. Click OK.
The basic snow data and snow loadcases are set up, and the snow loads within the undrifted snow loadcase are created.
Note: Loads in drift snow loadcases are not created and must therefore be manually applied. For more information, see Apply loads to loadcases on completion of the snow wizard.

Run the snow wizard (AS, BS, or IS)

To run the snow wizard:

To run these versions of the snow wizard you should firstly ensure the appropriate snow loading code has been set in Home > Model Settings > Design Codes, then:

  1. On the Load tab, click Snow Load > Snow wizard...

    The snow wizard opens.

  2. Specify whether you want to generate a balanced snow loadcase, and also the number of unbalanced and drift snow loadcases to be created.
  3. Click OK.
The requested snow loadcases set up.
Note: Loads within the snow loadcases must be manually applied. For more information, see Apply loads to loadcases on completion of the snow wizard.
