Question
The architect has amended the details and I now need to move gridlines. How do I do this without having to re-create from scratch?Answer
It is possible to extend, shorten, offset and move gridlines. In this article you will learn how to move the gridlines.
Open a Base Plan View
To modify gridlines we first need to be in a plan view with the gridlines visible. We will open a Base plane view- Access the Structure pane of the Project Workspace
- Double left click the Structure > Levels > Base plan view or right click and Open view from the context menu

Select the gridline to modify
Ensure no command is active. i.e. no Yellow command bar is shown at the top of the plan view.Select the gridline you wish to move by left clicking. You will notice blue nodes, one at the centre and at each end of the gridline

Architectural Grids
Note. Since the gridline forms part of an architectural grid system that exists on defined levels, all gridlines on these levels will also be moved.
