Profile Weight Checker (ML088)
You can use the tool Profile Weight Checker (ML088) for checking profile weights in the profile catalog. The weight is calculated though the API and is compared with the defined weight per unit length in the profile catalog. If the difference between the two values is greater than the defined percentage difference, this difference is written in the tool. If required, you can copy this information from the tool.
This tool does work only for profiles, not for plates.

Define the specific weight to calculate with. Profile suppliers in many cases do use 8000 kg/m3. Bear this in mind to have a proper comparison. This option can only be used with an integer. |

In case the difference is greater than the defined percentage difference, this difference is showed in the tool. The value can include one decimal. |

Example You need to use a rectangular hollow section profile that is not available in the profile catalog yet. You copy a comparable rectangular hollow section profile, and you modify the size of the rectangular hollow section profile. However, you forgot to modify the weight. We use rectangular hollow section profile RHS160/10 for making a RHS160/14. The weight per unit length for the rectangular hollow section profile RHS160/10 is 44,40 kg/m.

So, the percentage difference in weight is 38,8 %. You can solve this problem by modifying the weight in the profile catalog. You can select a cell (or multiple cells) in the dialog box to copy the concerned value(s) to re-use these value(s). |
