I cannot get a circular arrowhead in drawings for marks, texts or lines. How can I achieve that or create my own arrowhead?

Answer:
With default arrowheads it is not possible to get a fully circular arrowhead, but there is a convenient way to create one.
- Go to ..\ProgramData\Tekla Structures\<version>\Environments\Common\symbols
- Copy the arrows.sym and arrows.txt files to some other location on your computer (for backup reasons). Also, you cannot save the edited file if you leave it at this location.
- Open the arrows.sym file with Symbol Editor. You can launch it as a stand-alone program from the Start menu, or in Tekla Structures go to Tools -> Symbol Editor…
- Create your own symbol. Remember the position number of the symbol. The position number is located in the right bottom corner of the dialog box.

- Save and close the file.
- Open the arrows.txt file and add the position number of the symbol you created.

- Save and close the file. Copy and overwrite both files, arrows.sym and arrows.txt, to their initial location ..\ProgramData\Tekla Structures\<version>\Environments\Common\symbols
- Open, e.g. the dr_dialog_arrow_type_000.bmp file which is located in ..\ProgramData\Tekla Structures\<version>\Bitmaps with some bitmap editor.
- Create the representation image of your symbol that will be visible in the Tekla Structures environment.
Image
- Save it with the same name, but replace the number “000” at the end of the file name with the same position number that the symbol you created had in the symbol.sym file. In this example: dr_dialog_arrow_type_255.bmp
- Now restart Tekla Structures. Your custom symbol should be visible and selectable from the drop-down list.
