Numbering series
Use numbering series to divide steel parts, reinforcement, assemblies, and cast units into groups. For example, you can allocate a separate numbering series to each phase or part type. Using separate numbering series for different objects and part types speeds up the numbering operation.
The name of a numbering series consists of a prefix and a start number. You do not always have to define a prefix (for example, you may want to omit the part prefix for minor parts).
When you run numbering, Tekla Structures compares model objects that belong to the same series with each other. All identical objects within tolerance and in the same numbering series are given the same position number. The oldest object in the series is considered as the origin object for comparison.
Note:
When the advanced option XS_INHERIT_CONCRETE_PART_NUMBERING_SETTINGS_FROM_CAST_UNIT is set to
TRUE,
which is the default value, concrete parts are numbered according to the cast unit
numbering settings. For example, if the cast unit prefix is C
and the start number is 1, concrete parts will get the part
prefix Concrete_C-1.
This applies also to concrete components whose part position prefix is Concrete and start number is 1.
