You can model a temperature change in a part, or a temperature difference between two part surfaces, or a strain.
-
On the
Analysis & design tab, click
.
-
In the
Temperature Load Properties dialog box:
-
Enter or modify the load properties.
-
On the
Magnitude tab, do one of the following:
-
Use the
Temperature difference section to define a temperature load.
If you want to apply a temperature load to an entire structure, enter the load in the
Temperature change for axial elongation box.
-
Use the
Strain section to define a strain.
-
On the
Distribution tab, select whether you want to attach the load to a part.
If you want to apply a temperature load to an entire structure, adjust the bounding box to surround all the beams and columns in the structure.
-
Click
OK to save the changes.
-
On the
Analysis & design tab, click
.
-
If you selected to attach the load to a part, select the part.
-
Pick the start point of the load.
-
Pick the end point of the load.
