Cutting a nest produces new inventory - remnants. Follow these steps to get this remnant information back from SigmaNest and entered into Tekla PowerFab inventory.

Crop and Post Nests

In SigmaNest, a part is posted to define the cuts and the remnant, then the Program is Updated once cut.

When Posting a Program in SigmaNest, check "Save e-Reports" to generate the report that Tekla PowerFab will read. To set up this report, see here.

With this option checked, when the Nest posts, an HTML file is created in the eReports directory. It will be named something like T150.html.

If you have not already imported nesting results into the FabSuite combining run, follow instructions here.

Import a SigmaNest Cut List

Do not import a cut list from SigmaNest until it has been posted.

Open Inventory in Tekla PowerFab.

Choose Import, then SigmaNest Cut List from the Inventory menu.

Now that the cut information has been imported to Tekla PowerFab, the remnants are available for viewing. (If you created a remnant in SigmaNest before sending a report for ordering to Tekla PowerFab, you already have this information). To see the remnants created, double click an inventory item in Tekla PowerFab.

The name on remnant tab of this screen shows the ID of the remnant in Tekla PowerFab. This is a static ID, and will never change. The image of the remnant is shown on the tab also.

Updating Inventory after a cut

Once a cut list is imported from SigmaNest it can be Cut in Tekla PowerFab, relieving inventory of the plate used, and adding the proper remnants. This can be done manually, but can also be automatic if it's enabled.

To perform this Take From Stock automatically, simply Import the Cut List again from SigmaNest (after performing the Program Update). It will pull all pertinent information from the SigmaNest database and take this sheet from stock.

When the Take From Stock has been successfully performed, the sheet will have been removed from Tekla PowerFab inventory, and the remnant added in it's place

Double clicking the remnant piece will open up a picture of it.

Catch the SigmaNest inventory up to date by Exporting Inventory again to finish.

This remnant is linked to the SigmaNest database and can be returned to SigmaNest for further nesting.
