Keep ProNest and Tekla PowerFab inventory in sync by regularly exporting the PowerFab Inventory to ProNest.

  • From Inventory, choose Export, then Sync with ProNest.

  • The export command creates an inventory export file, then triggers ProNest's Data Sync to process that file.
  • When Data Sync has processed the file, PowerFab checks the ProNest database for the new pieces and links each new piece in ProNest Inventory to the appropriate piece in the PowerFab inventory.

  • When this process is complete, ProNest should have all the inventory that PowerFab has. Inventory that had previously been in ProNest (but not linked to PowerFab) will not be affected.
  • To see the Inventory added to ProNest, go to the Data tab and choose "Plate Inventory". Full plates from PowerFab will have the type "Rectangular". (Tekla PowerFab also keeps remnants up to date).

  • Make sure that the "Material" field is not "(none)". If it is, this material has not been found in the material database. It will need to be added.
  • Set up Inventory Sync to run automatically using an Automated Event (recommended) or from the the ProNest settings screen.

Troubleshooting

Don't see "Export to ProNest" in the Inventory Exit menu?

Make sure ProNest is enabled.

Program got an error when exporting inventory to ProNest?

Check to make sure the Data Sync Service is running, and that the database is accessible.

Data Sync generated an error?

Open up Data Sync Manager, go to Options, and set the Log level to "Debug". Then run again, find the error and contact Tekla PowerFab support or ProNest support for help resolving it, if necessary. (When it's resolved, change the log level back to "warn" or "error").
