Symptoms

After installing the Tekla Tedds 2022 version some or all of the following issues occur:

• Tedds 2022 opens for a few seconds and closes down without an error message.
• When Tedds closes, there is an Application error in the Windows Event Viewer for Tedds.exe with Faulting module name: ucrtbase.dll. 
• Tedds for Word opens and runs without issues but hangs on closing OR...
• Tedds for Word hangs when the Tedds ribbon is selected.
• After Tedds closes the TeklaOnlinePanel (32 bit) process is still listed in the Task Manager.

Solution

Update 29 Mar 2022

These issues have now been fixed as follows:

• The Tekla Structural Design Suite 2022 installation has been replaced by an updated (March 2022) version incorporating Tedds 2022 SP1.
• Tedds 2022 SP1 is now released.  Download and install this only if you have already installed Tekla Structural Design Suite 2022.
  • Alternatively you can fully uninstall all the Tedds installation components via Control Panel > Programs & features, then download and install the updated Tekla Structural Design Suite 2022 (March 2022).

Workaround

The majority of cases should be resolved by performing the following steps.  However, if you still have problems after performing these, please contact your local Support Team - you can submit a support request here. 

1. As shown in the picture at the bottom, open the Windows Control Panel > Programs & Features
2. Select the “Tekla Tedds” component and run a Repair of this.
3. Select the “Tekla Tedds 64-bit” component and run a Repair of this. 
4. After you have done this, browse to the directory "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Tekla\Structural\Licensing\", copy the file Microsoft.Diagnostics.Tracing.EventSource.dll and paste this into to the root of the Tedds 32-bit program files directory "C:\Program Files (x86)\Tekla\Structural\Tedds"
