Purpose and description

With height annotations, you can label parts such as inclined slabs. The annotation displays the corresponding geometric values such as top edge, bottom edge, or thickness, depending on the position of the annotations leader line.

System requirements

This extension is only available to maintenance customers of BuildingPoint Schweiz AG.
You need Tekla Structures 2020 or later to use the extension.
This feature is only visible in the ribbon starting with Service Pack SP2.

Installing Annotations

You can download the extension on Tekla Warehouse.
After installation, you'll find the extension when you open a drawing sheet, in the ribbon under Annotations, or in the Applications and Components catalog:

Using Annotations

Annotate parts

To annotate a part, simply click on the part you want to annotate, then click the location you want to annotate and then define the location of the text.

Define the text-schema

The labeling scheme settings can be found in the dialog window. For example, you can open the dialog window by double-clicking on a previously created label. If you hold down the SHIFT key while starting the function, the dialog window will open before you place a label.

  1. On the left pane, you'll find all available attributes. Use OK or UK to label the current height of the part. The height is calculated from the point where the label's leader line points.
  2. Available attributes for the part label.
  3. Use USER_TEXT to specify a static text.
  4. Use <--' to create a line break.
  5. Move or delete the text block clicked in the middle area.
  6. Current labeling scheme. Click on text blocks to move or delete them using the functions in point 5. Double-click on a static text ( USER_TEXT ) to edit the text.
  7. Define the text properties.
  8. Define the properties for numeric values such as OK, UK or THICKNESS .
  9. Activate Rounding Dec to round to 5mm instead of 1mm .

Settings

In the Settings tab you can set the guide line for the height label.

Move Annotation

If you want to move an annotation, first click the component. You'll then see two green reference points, where you want to annotate the part and where you placed the annotation. Click and drag the desired reference point, depending on whether you want to move the text or the point to be labeled.
