Define pay categories for a production control job

Pay categories are breakdown items used in reporting and scheduling. You can use pay categories as filters to help you to sort information in reports. Tekla PowerFab also contains specific shipping reports that are designed to be used with pay categories.

You are in the Production Control module. You are either creating a new job or modifying an existing job in the Production Control Job Edit dialog box.
  1. Click Pay Categories.
    The Pay Categories dialog box opens.
  2. Modify the properties in the dialog.

    Create a new pay category
    1. Click New.
    2. In the Pay Category field, type the pay category name.

      For example, Beams, Columns, or Bracing.

    3. Type a description for the pay category.

      For example, Light, Medium, or Heavy.

    4. In the Lower Bound Unit Weight field, type the lowest weight that is applicable to the pay category.
    5. In the Unit Price field, type a pricing per hundredweight that is applicable for the material type.
    6. Select the appropriate Cost Code and Cost Type.
    7. Click Add.

    8. Click Save.
    Modify an existing pay category
    1. In the list, click the pay category that you want to modify.
    2. Modify the pay category type, description, unit weight, and unit price according to your needs.
    3. Click Save.
    Delete a pay category

    Note that deleting a pay category is permanent and cannot be undone.

    1. In the list, click the pay category that you want to delete.
    2. Click Delete.
    3. In the confirmation dialog box, click Yes to permanently delete the pay category.
  3. To close the dialog, click the Close button (X) in the upper-right corner.
  4. In the Production Control Job Edit dialog box, click Save.
