Tata Steel RoofDek analysis (EN1993/EN1999)

The Tata RoofDek calculation has been enhanced to include D32s and Colorcoat decks. The calculation has also been improved to allow permanent dead loads and removable dead loads to be specified (only the former counters wind uplift). The ultimate combined check has been updated to include 30% plastic distribution of moment and 6% of reaction and the output now includes the weight of the profile.

Concrete industrial ground floor design (TR34 - Fourth Edition)

New version of the calculation which checks the design of a concrete industrial ground floor slab In accordance with Technical Report 34, Concrete Industrial Ground Floors. A guide to design and construction - Fourth Edition. Point loads, line loads and uniformly distributed loads can be applied to the slab which can then be designed using fabric, fibre or fibre and bar reinforcement.

RC pile cap design (ACI318)

New version of the calculation which has been completely rewritten and now checks the design of pile caps supporting a single column with up to 9 piles. The column may be subject to axial compression or tension, shear loads, and biaxial bending. Possible load cases include Dead, Live, Live roof, Rain, Snow, Wind, and Seismic for all load types. Dead and Live surcharge loads may be defined. Steel, concrete or timber piles can be defined with compression, tension, and shear capacity. Defined capacities are compared to analysis results. The calculation checks positive and negative bending in the pile cap, one way shear (traditional and modified), two way column shear (traditional and modified), two way pile shear, two way shear for pile pairs, and one way corner pile shear as appropriate. The design can be completed in accordance with ACI318-14, ACI318-11, ACI318-08 or ACI318-05. Watch video demonstration

Help

  • New online delivered Help documentation which ensures that you always have access to the most up to date help information.

Tedds Application

  • New implementation of the Start Page window which ensures a consistent user experience with other Tekla products.
  • Fixed calculation user interfaces not always appearing in the foreground when calculating.
  • Fixed Tedds application not always being restored as the foreground window when calculating is finished.
  • Fixed a thank you for using the Tedds trial message being shown incorrectly if the Tedds installation was originally installed using the Tedds marketing trial and a document was opened from Windows explorer and the Tedds application was already open.

General

  • New standard Trimble user interface for all Tedds applications ensuring a consistent and modern user experience throughout the software and a better user experience when using other Trimble applications.
  • A new option has been added to the Calculating\Sketches which determines how sketches which include transparent fills are handled. Some users have reported that they experience problems when using 3rd party software to output their Tedds documents to PDF because any areas of a sketch which use transparency are not handled correctly by the software which creates the PDF. This new option allows you to change how the calculations output their drawings to try and workaround the problem with the PDF software.
  • When a DataTable is shown don’t prompt user to confirm which table to select from if only one table is open.
  • Fixed the modified attribute not being removed from variables when calculating is finished.

Tedds for Word

  • Added a warning prompt when opening a document or when using the GoTo CalcSection command, to warn if the document has multiple Calc Sections with the same numeric identifier.
  • New GoTo CalcSection command which shows a list of all the Calc Sections in the document and allows you to move the insertion point to the selected Calc Section. This is now the default navigate button in the Ribbon’s Calc Section group in preference to Next/Previous.
  • Enhanced all insert marked up calc item commands to use the system and user library directory placeholders so that items can be saved to a library on another computer.
  • Improved performance when closing Tedds Add-In if Word was loaded but Tedds was not used (i.e. not fully loaded).
  • Fixed the Library Access System so that if a Calc Set is opened which is already open and the existing window is minimized then that window is restored.
  • Fixed the Library Access System to ensure that when editing only the contents of an existing Calc Item that the Calc Set is not marked as needing saving.
  • Fixed variable manager when writing out assignments for variables with their values stored as expressions to ensure that the prefix '$' is included.
  • Updated Insert Tedds Field dialog so that when CalcItem fields are created EvalCalcItem is used rather than the legacy EvalLibItem.
  • Fixed the dialogs used for selecting Calc Sets and Calc Items not resizing the preview window correctly
  • Fixed the Show Show/Hide delimiters command so that it works correctly when the expression delimiter is not a semicolon.

2D analysis

  • Enhanced the dialog for defining timber sections to allow flitch sections to be defined.
  • Enhanced the load combination generator so that if a combination is chosen which already exists with the same factors the combinations is not created rather than an error being reported because a duplicate combination cannot be created.
  • Modified title of select section dialog to "Section"
  • Fixed exception when editing the steel section in the Steel member analysis & design calculations default model.
  • When using the user interface for defining a single design member in an analysis & design calculation don't allow the analysis properties of the section to be manually modified because the section will not then be recognised as a steel section.

Sketch Viewer

  • New version of the Sketch Viewer application which can be used to capture sketches shown in calculation user interfaces or sketches from any Windows application which can copy sketches to the Windows clipboard in the Metafile or Enhanced metafile formats. Sketches can then be added to Tedds for Word documents as required.

Writing calculations

  • Updated Professional Developer Tools Training Manual and associated installation for the training manual files.
  • New functions GetDebug and SetDebug for querying and changing the Tedds debug mode setting.
  • Fixed the Interface Designer when editing the tab order of a custom page template not maintain the order correctly if the start number was greater than one.

Tedds API

  • Added WindowHandle property to the Calculator interface so that calling application can bring the Tedds calculator main window to the foreground when running calculations.
  • New TeddsAPITester application is now available from the Tedds Developer Tab ribbon.
  • plus many more enhancements and improvements…
