For the first time that you point the client_computer which has a new version of Tekla Structures installed to Tekla Structures license server you need to check the following and apply the mentioned procedure below:
1. Make sure that no one is using Tekla Structures. (Ask all users to close Tekla Structures)
2. Go to C:\TeklaStructures\License\Server and open the tekla.lic file.
3. Add a free TCP/IP port for the licensing service at the end of the first row (If it doesn't exist by default). Note that the automatic installation option sets the port to: 27007 as (Default). The file should look like this:
NOTE: Red underline is “the server name” and blue underline is “the server port number”.
4. Save and close the file after changes.
5. Go to: Start > All programs > Tekla Structures Licensing > LMTOOLS
6. Click on Stop the server. Wait couple of seconds and click on Start Server.
Do the following steps on your Tekla Structures workstation(s):
1. Start Tekla Structures.
2. On the Connect to License Server dialog, add the port to the front of the server definition and click OK.
- You need to login as Administrator, because it writes this address to registry.
- Make sure that both (the client_workstation and the server) are in the same domain.
- Make sure that LAN connection is established. The license server and the client computers need to be in the same Local Area Network.
- Turn off the firewalls and pause the spyware protection of your company.
