System component Cladding window (51) can be used to create a window in a wall of 1 or more layers. The component can also create profiles.

Before you start

Model a wall.

Selection order

Depending on the setting, first select the profiles in which you want to create a window. Activate the component, click on the 4 corners of the window and the window will be created.

 

Picture tab

The "Picture" tab can be used to define the size of the window.

OptionDescription
1Define the distance (offset) relative to the 4 points.

Options:

  • selected parts. Create the window in pre-selected parts.
  • all the parts. Create the window in all parts. No pre-selection required.
3Take all parts into account in this depth (in the example above 1000 is defined, so from the plane 500 mm in the front and 500 mm to the back, so in total a depth of 1000 mm).

Options for splitting or cut. 

Options:

  • split part. In case a part will be cut completely, it will be splitted instead.
  • part cut. In case a part will be cutted partly, a polygon cut will be created and the part remains 1 profile.

Options to connect the profiles. 

Options:

  • No
  • Weld

Offsets by class tab

The "Offsets by class" tab can be used to define the offsets of the profiles.

Profiles 1 - 2 tab

The "Profiles 1 - 2" tab can be used to generate profiles between point 1 and point 2. Maximum 6 profiles between point 1 and point 2.

Prefix and start number for the position number of the plate and in the second row where prefix and start number of the assembly number can be defined. Only used when the gusset plate is not welded.

The default start number of the part is defined in the menu File > Settings > Options.
MaterialMaterial of the profiles added.The default material is defined in the File > Settings > Options.
NameThe name displayed in drawings and reports. 
ClassThe class of the profile, standard the color of the profile in the model. 
Finish    The finish of the profiles added. 

Positions 1 - 2 tab

The "Positions 1 - 2" tab can be used to define the orientation and position of the placed profiles. Also, the start- and endpoint can de moved.

Profiles 2 - 3 tab

The "Profiles 2 - 3" tab can be used like the "Profiles 1 - 2" tab, but in this case for profiles between point 2 and 3.

Positions 2 - 3 tab

The "Positions 2 - 3" tab can be used same way as the "Positions 1 - 2" tab, but in this tab for the profiles between point 2 and point 3.
