Purpose and description

Use Arm diagonal brace component to create diagonal braces between the top and the bottom legs of truss and the vertical braces.

Installing Arm diagonal brace

To install the extension:

1. Download Transmission tower tools installer package from Tekla Warehouse. For more information see Downloading an application from Tekla Warehouse.
2. Install the file package.

Using Arm diagonal brace

To use the application:

1. Open a Tekla model.
2. Click the Applications & components button

   in the side pane to open the Applications & components catalog.
3. Search for Arm diagonal brace and then double-click to open it.
4. Create two arm profiles (L profiles) in the same vertical plane.
5. Select the main part (bottom truss).
6. Select the second part (top truss).
7. Select the third part (first vertical brace).
8. Select the fourth part (next vertical brace).

9. Click the middle mouse button to create the component.

Parts

The Parts tab can be used for defining properties for the parts created by the Arm diagonal brace component.

1. Part properties

   Option	Description	Default
   Pos_No	Define a prefix and a starting number for the part position number.	br_1
   	Define a prefix and a starting number for the assembly position number.	BR_1
   Material	Define material grade.	S235JR
   Name	Define a name that is shown in drawings and reports.	BRACE
   Finish	Define the finish type.
   Class	Define the class.	4

2. Part dimensions

Parameters

The Parameters tab can be used for defining properties for the diagonal braces created by the Arm diagonal brace component.

1. Brace orientation

   Option	Description
   Image	No brace
   Image	Type 1 - Default The braces are placed so that the shorter leg is connected to the part.

   Image	Type2 The braces are placed so that the longer leg is connected to the part.

   Image	Type 3 Same as Type 2 but rotated.

2. Braces offset

   Image	Define the offset of the left brace. This option is not visible if No brace option is selected in the Brace orientation list.	0 mm

3. Brace direction
