Modify end fixity
The Fixed/Pinned command allows you to graphically review and modify the end fixity of all members in the model.
-
Open a view and switch the view regime to
Review View.
- On the Review tab, select Fixed/Pinned.
- Go to the Properties window.
- In the Attribute list, ensure that Fixed/Pinned is selected.
-
With the Mode set as
Toggle, do one of the following:
- Click near one end of an individual member to switch the end fixity at that end between the valid types, (the tooltip indicates the current fixity at that end).
- Click near the middle of an individual member to switch the end fixity at both ends
between the valid types, (the tooltip indicates the current fixities at both
ends).
-
If both ends currently have the same end fixity then both are changed to the next valid type.
-
If the ends currently have different end fixities then both are changed to pinned (regardless of their current fixity).
-
- Hold down the left mouse button and drag a box from left to right to alter the fixity settings of all members within the box.
- Hold down the left mouse button and drag a box from right to left to alter the fixity settings of all members within the box or cut by the box.
-
Alternatively, with the
Mode set as Set On, select the FixityType required and then
click near the end or middle of an individual member or drag a box, as above to
apply the chosen fixity.
Note: If you want to apply or remove a cantilever end, first select Cantilever end in the Attribute list. For details, see: Apply cantilever ends.
