Review model properties (show/alter state)

The Show/Alter State group of commands on the Review tab allow you to graphically review and modify various model properties. For each of the commands, entities are color coded in accordance with a legend, and the entity color changes to reflect any changes as they are made.

Operations are accessed by first selecting the appropriate command from the ribbon, and then, when necessary selecting an appropriate attribute in the Properties window.

In the ribbon, click:

  • Embodied Carbon to access:
  • Auto/Check Design to access:
    • Autodesign - to graphically review or modify autodesign settings of a member or slab
    • Stud auto layout - to modify the stud auto layout setting of composite beams
  • Diaphragm On/Off to access:
    • Diaphragm - to graphically review or modify diaphragm settings
    • Gravity only - to review and modify the gravity only setting of beams and columns
    • Restraints- to review and modify lateral restraint settings of steel beams, columns, trusses and portal frames
  • Fixed/Pinned to access:
  • BIM Status - to graphically assess the BIM Status, and also to exclude members and panels from the import/export process
  • Slab / Foundation Reinforcement - to graphically review and edit or rationalize panel, patch or foundation reinforcement
  • Section / Material Grade to access:
  • Copy Properties to access:
  • Report Filter - to graphically review and modify report filters
  • Sub Structures - to graphically review and modify sub structures
  • Concrete Beam Flanges - to graphically set whether flange are considered
  • Column Splices - to graphically review and modify splice positions within steel columns.
  • Property Sets - to graphically review or apply property sets to members, slab items and roof panels.
  • UDA - to graphically review and modify the values of user defined attributes that have been attached to the model.
  • Show/Alter State to access:
    • Active -to set single span members to be active/inactive
    • All properties - to copy all properties between members
    • Assume cracked - to set concrete members as either cracked or uncracked
    • Autodesign -to review or modify autodesign settings
    • BIM Status - to graphically assess BIM Status, and also to exclude members/panels from the import/export process
    • Braced/Bracing - to modify slenderness settings in each direction for concrete columns and walls
    • Camber - to review and apply camber
    • Cantilever end - to mark beam and column ends as cantilevers
    • Deflection Limits - to review and copy specified deflection limits between steel beams
    • Diaphragm - to graphically review or modify diaphragm settings
    • Drift check - to review check status, or specify members to be checked
    • Fire proofing - to review and apply fire proofing
    • Fixed/Pinned - to graphically review or modify member end fixities
    • Gravity only - to review and modify the gravity only setting of beams and columns
    • Imposed load reduction - to review and set imposed load reductions
    • Live load reduction - to review and set live load reductions (US head code)
    • Material Grade - to graphically copy material grades
    • Override Effective Width - to set the composite beams to which an effective width override applies
    • Punch check position - to modify assumed punching shear check positions
    • Quick Connector Layout - to copy the connector layout from one beam to others
    • Restraints- to review and modify lateral restraint settings of steel beams, columns, trusses and portal frames
    • Rotational stiffness - to review and modify rotational stiffness settings of beam ends
    • Section- to graphically copy section sizes
    • Seismic drift - to review check status, or specify members to be checked
    • SFRS - review or modify SFRS type and direction
    • Shear Connectors - to copy shear connector properties between composite beams
    • SidePlates - to review the status and locations where SidePlate connections have been applied to steel beams
    • Size Constraints - to review and copy specified size constraints for steel beams, columns, and braces
    • Stud auto layout - to modify the stud auto layout setting of composite beams
    • Sway check - to review check status, or specify members to be checked
    • Transverse reinforcement
    • UDA - to review and modify user defined attributes applied to members
    • User Defined U/R - to review and modify user defined utilization ratios
    • Web Openings - to copy web opening properties between members
    • Westok Openings - to copy westok opening properties between members
    • Wind drift - to review check status, specify members to be checked and set the limit
    • Wind Loading - to set the members/ancillaries/equipment to which open structure wind loading applies
Tip: You can use Ctrl + A as a shortcut to quickly scroll the Attribute list.
