The Trimble Connect extension Color Models serves for colorizing of model objects groups by custom colors. The colorizing is based on specific attributes to enhance better visualization, ease the identification of specific objects, and highlight important sections.

Use for

Colorize model(s) or multiple objects based on different attributes to highlight and quickly identify specific objects.

Before you start

1. Open the model in the 3D viewer.

2. Select the XLSX file defining property values with corresponding colors to be loaded. (See the example of the basic XLSX file in the "Color tab".).

3. Adjust the settings.

Color tab

On the "Color" tab, select the XLSX file in the "Select Excel" dialog and adjust the settings to colorize the model according to the desired property type.

Refresh the explorer.

Load the selected XLSX file. The settings open.

 

Adjust the settings regarding how the objects of the model should be colorized.

1Select the sheet of the XLSX file from which the data will be read.

Choose the property type.

Option:

  • IFCPROJECT - entity type in the IFC file
  • Custom property name - property in the PSET

When the option "Custom property name" is used, it is necessary to enter the name of the custom property to the next field.

This Custom property name has to correspond to the name in the PSET.

3Choose the column from the XLSX file that represents the element property value.
4Choose the column from the XLSX file with colors.
5Decide whether the color coded in #rrggbb format or cell color will be used. 
6Keep the color of already colorized objects.
7Color other objects not colorized based on the predefined settings. Choose the color from the palette, or the default grey color will be used.

Uncolorize the model.

Colorize the model. 

 

Example of a basic XLSX file

Create a basic XLSX file with two define columns.

In the first column, define property values. 

In the second column, define corresponding colors using cell colors or colors coded in #rrggbb format.
