Trimble Connect extension Checklist is a comprehensive solution for streamlined project management. It allows the creation of user customizable checklist to enhance task organization and progress tracking. In that way, this extension serves to comply with the Quality Assurance Act, which is mandatory in several countries.
This help refers to version 2.3 of the extension. See tab page "About".

1. Add the extension to the project (when you create a new project and add the extension, all default folders of the extensions are created in the TC extensions folder).

Checklist tab
The "Checklist" tab serves for viewing and working with checklists that are in the draft stage, in progress, or signed.
The "Checklist" tab contains the following sections:
1. Toolbar
2. Browser
3. Action buttons
4. Window with the opened checklist
Toolbar
The toolbar provides filtering functions, searching checklists by name, and changing of ascending/descending order of folders and files in the browser.

Browser
In the browser, there is a folder structure with all created checklists.
- The mark in front of the checklist name indicates the state of the checklist. Each checklist can be in one of the following states: Draft stage (blue), In progress (yellow) or Signed (green).
- Each checklist has on the right side the information about its template and in the colored circles, numbers indicate positive (green), negative (red) or neutral (yellow) answers.

| The function "Browse plans" serves for viewing plans saved in the project in PDF file format. The dialog window appears where the PDF file from the current project is possible to open. |
Create a new checklist
When the button "Create" is used, the dialog window opens.
To Create a new checklist instance, the name of the checklist has to be entered and the template has to be selected. Also, the phase and the comment can be entered. The information will be then the part of the heading.
To create multiple instances of checklists for the objects in IFC models, use the option "Create for model objects" in the "Create new template draft" dialog window.
It is necessary to select the template and choose the checklist name mask composed of selected properties:
- Object.Assembly position
- Object.Class
- Object.GUID
- Free text
- Object.Material
- Object.Name
- Order

When the checklist name mask is created and the template is selected, use the button "Select". The 3D viewer opens and the model and the objects can be selected. "Using the button "Select" again confirms the object selection and in the dialog window, the different checklist instances are visible.
Use the button "Create" to create multiple checklist instances for the objects selected in the model.
Window with an opened checklist
In the window with an opened checklist, there are options in the right top corner to hide/expand the browser or the heading of the checklist.
Heading
In the Heading of the checklist, the main information about the checklist is available, such as subject, project name, project code, location, phase, comment, date of creation, name reviewer, and status.
Subject, location, phase, and comment can be edited in the heading.
Action buttons
At the bottom, the action buttons are available. They can differ based on the state of the opened checklist.
Draft stage
When a new instance of the checklist is created, it appears in the draft stage. In the draft stage, the checklist can be still edited.

- Before the action buttons, the warning message appears, informing users that this checklist is in the draft stage.
- Action buttons to start the checklist or to save the checklist are active.
- When the user starts the checklist, the dialog window opens.
- Before the checklist is created, the user has the option to "keep this draft stage". By selecting this option, it's necessary to choose the name for the checklist in the draft stage and the checklist with the original name moves to the state in progress.
In progress
When the checklist is in progress, the authorized users can answer the questions. The question can be supplemented by adding an attachment or position.

- The action button "Sign" is active after all the answers are filled in and all mandatory attachments are added. The dialog window appears where the publish folder path can be changed.
- The action buttons to save the current state of the checklist, view the history of changes, or download the checklist PDF showing the current state of the checklist are active.
- When the history is viewed, the history can be downloaded as a PDF file.
- The action buttons to view the history and download the checklist PDF are active even when the checklist is already signed.
Question types
1. Question (with predefined answers)
For this type of question, the answers have to be defined.
In the running checklist, the authorized user picks one from the predefined answers.
2. Simple question
This question type is created in the form of a checkbox.
3. Text question
The user answers this type of question by text entered in the field next to the question.
4. Date
The answer to this question is a date.
In the running checklist, the date is selected from the calendar, which opens after clicking on the field next to the question name.
By clicking on the calendar icon, the calendar opens.

5. Number
The answer to this question type is the numerical value.
In the running checklist, the number can be written to the field.
6. Project members
To answer this question, the authorized user has to pick the project member.
In the running checklist, when the icon "add user" is used, the list of project members opens.
7. Multiple choice
This kind of question can have multiple answers predefined.
The authorized user can select one, more than one, or all the answers by checking the boxes in the running checklist.

Editor tab
In the "Editor" tab the custom checklist template can be created.
The "Editor" tab contains the following sections:

2. Window with opened template
Browser
In the browser, there is a folder structure with all created templates.
- In the header of the table, there is an icon for changing the ascending/descending order of folders.
- Below the table the action buttons are available.

Template creation
When the folder is selected, a new template can be created by pressing the "Create" button. When the "Create" button is pressed, the following dialog window opens:
- When the name of the new template is entered, the new template can be created.
- The template can be created also by using the share section from the list of shared sections. The comment can be added.
- The main section of the new template is created.
- The following options can be chosen to create the checklist.

New section
When the new section is created, the dialog window opens, where the name of the new section must be entered. The section can be created using the share section from the list of shared sections.

New question
When a new question is created, the dialog window opens.
- The checklist offers the creation of the following question types:

- The name of the question has to be entered.
- The question can be created using shared questions from the list of shared questions.
1. Question (with predefined answers)
For this type of question, the answers have to be defined.

- The name of the answer must be entered. The type of significance of the answer can be chosen from "success", "in progress", or "fail".

2. Simple question
This question type is created in the form of a checkbox.
3. Text question
The user answers this type of question by text entered in the field next to the question.

To answer this question the authorized user has to pick the project member.
7. Multiple choice
This kind of question can have multiple answers predefined.

Share section
When the section is created, it can be shared. The dialog window opens.
- After entering the name, the section can be saved to the list of shared sections and reused other time when a new section will be created.
- The sections, questions and answers can be reordered using the drag and drop function.
Action buttons
- The created template can be cloned by using the button "Clone". The dialog window for entering the name of the cloned template opens.
- All the changes made in the template can be saved using the button "Save".
Settings tab
The "Settings" tab contains the following expandable sections:
- Role
- Path
- Heading
- Shared sections
- Report
- Roles of users from the project
- Shared sections editor
- Published folder path
- Checklist container path
- Path to the images folder
- Path to the plans folder
- Switch on/off the option to save history to publish folder
- Shared sections editor
- Heading editor
Role
In the "Role" section, the admins or the editors can set the role of each member in the project.

The "user" can't create a new checklist or edit it. He can only answer the questions authorized to him. |

Path
In the "Path" section, the following options can be set:
- Published folder path
- Checklist container path
- Path to the images folder
- Path to the plans folder
- Switch on/off the option to save history to publish folder
Heading
In the "Heading" section, the default location is set.
Shared sections
In the "Shared sections", the shared section can be opened, the name can be edited or it can be removed.
The JSON Preview of the selected shared section opens.
Report
The front page of the checklist PDF file includes the company logo, the project picture, the project name and the checklist title.
In the "Report" section, there are advanced options for checklist PDF file customization.
The options, how to customize the PDF file:
- Add company logo.
- Add project picture.
- Decide, whether you want detailed or simple information.
- Decide, whether the preview of attachments should be shown.
