CATALOG NAME: Keyway Recess Tool
TYPE: SEAM

When the .uel file is imported into the model, it will import both the Keyway Recess Tool and a sketched profile named “KEY”. The Keyway Recess Tool is to be used to cut a keyway recess into an adjacent footing or wall when you use the “KEY” profile as the main part. This will provide the user with proper concrete properties in keyway situations.

1.  Select the Keyway Recess Tool from the Component Catalog.
2.  Fill out component dialog per your requirements.
3.  For proper insertion, select the Footing or Adjacent Wall as the Main Part (Part to cut).
4.  Select the Wall with the “KEY” profile as the Secondary Part (Cutting part)
5.  Pick two (2) points to define the positioning of the tool (This will define start and end).

Considerations:
  • The profile of the Keyway will match the defined profile of the “KEY” wall profile. There is no need to manually input this profile.
  • At this time, this tool will only work between a footing or adjacent wall and a modeled wall with the “KEY” profile. It will not work with slabs or any other object type.

Starting in v21.1, the above Custom Component is available in all US Environment Model Templates
