CATALOG NAME: Handrail Splice
TYPE: CONNECTION
Connects one handrail to another handrail using an inserted parametric rod or a profile from the profile catalog.
Parts created:
Connects a handrail to handrail using a parametric rod (default option). The parametric rod is created by calculating the inside diameter of the handrails, then rounding that diameter down to the nearest 1/16", thus producing the size of the parametric rod. If needed the parametric rod can be replaced with a profile from the profile catalog by selecting "Inserted Profile" option over "Parametric Rod" option. Fields can be found in the dialog box for controlling; which member is cut to create the gap (primary, secondary, or both), the inserted profile (optional), the name, finish, & class of the insert, and the length of the inserted material. This connection also provides 2 welds; one between the primary & inserted material and one between the secondary & inserted material.
NOTE: The picture shown here illustrates two handrail systems spliced together using 4 of these connections.
Before you start:
Create the following parts:
1. Either handrail, and then the
2. Opposite handrail
