CATALOG NAME: Column Tiers
TYPE: PART
This Custom Component is used to create up to 5 tiers of steel columns, a concrete pier, and a concrete footing. This component can also create base plate, column splice, cap plate, and reinforcement components as well.
Column Tab
This is where you define the bottom of base plate/bottom of column elevation, the centerline of splice elevations, and the top of column elevation. The base plate, column splice, and cap plate components and attributes are also defined here. By default, the column splice component name and attribute file will match that of the splice location below. Therefore, if you want the same component and attribute to be used at all locations, you only need to enter the information for Splice #1.
Parts Tab
This is where the column profiles and detailing information are defined. By default, the Profile, Part Prefix and Start Number, Assembly Prefix and Start Number, Material, Name, Finish, Class, and Design Group Name properties will match that of the Column Tier below. Therefore, if you want all of the column tiers to have the same properties, you only need to enter the information for Column Tier 1.
Foundation Tab
This is where the concrete pier and footing profiles, detailing information, elevations, and reinforcing components are defined. Note that it is possible to have the bottom of column/base plate component elevation (defined on the Columns tab) different than the top of pier/footing elevation (defined on the Foundation tab).
Position Tab
This is the typical position tab that affects the location and rotation of the component. Note that the rotation of the component will affect the rotation of the steel columns, concrete pier, and concrete footing at the same time.
