Anchor Rods

CATALOG NAME: Anchor-Bent Rod v2, Anchor-Epoxy v2, Anchor-Headed Bolt v2, Anchor-Hook Rod, Anchor-Straight Rod v2

These Custom Components create different types of anchor rods. Two points are needed to create these rods; the first point is located under the washer and the second can be any distance below it.

These custom components can be used inside other components such as:

• Custom Component - Beam Bearing Plate
• Custom Component - CMU Wall Support Angle 
• Custom Component - Hole + Custom Anchor
• System Component - U.S. Base plate (1047)
• System Component - Stair Base Detail (1043)

 These components are Parts, not Details and should be used to add anchors rods to parts in the model that already have holes. Since they are Parts, it is important to enter the plate thickness of the part in the model these rods are going through.

The size of the rod diameter is user driven in these components. Based on the rod diameter you enter, the appropriate nut and washer profiles will be used. A nuts_and_washers_dat file is used to control the thicknesses of the nut and washer profiles. This file is organized into 5 columns; the first is the rod diameter column which again is the driving value. The second is the thickness of the nut, followed by the third column - the washer thickness. The washer and nut profiles are taken from the fourth and fifth columns.

 If you enter a rod diameter that is not defined in the nuts_and_washers_dat file, then the anchor rod will turn red and the nuts and washers will disappear.

Anchor-Bent Rod v2 - Back to top

This Custom Component creates a bent anchor rod. It can be used to add a bent anchor rod to any plate in the model that already includes holes. It also includes an option to create a plate washer under the regular washer and another option to create a second nut and washer under the plate. Use the Rotation options on the Position tab to control the direction of this anchor rod.

   
 
Anchor-Epoxy v2 - Back to top

This Custom Component creates an epoxy anchor rod (with or without a screen tube) or a headed bolt/rod. It can be used to add one of these anchor rods to any plate in the model that already includes holes. It also includes an option to create a plate washer under the regular washer.

           

The volume of the Screen Tube is calculated and stored in the User-defined attribute, User Field 4 of the Screen Tube. This volume (in3) can be used in reports to estimate the amount of epoxy needed on a project.

This Custom Component creates a headed bolt. It can be used to add a headed bolt to any plate in the model that already includes holes. It also includes an option to create a plate washer under the regular washer and another option to create a second nut and washer under the plate.

    

Anchor-Hook Rod - Back to top

This Custom Component creates a hook rod. It can be used to add a hook rod to any plate in the model that already includes holes. It also includes an option to create a plate washer under the regular washer and another option to create a second nut and washer under the plate. Use the Rotation options on the Position tab to control the direction of this anchor rod.

This Custom Component creates a straight anchor rod. It can be used to add a straight anchor rod to any plate in the model that already includes holes. It includes an option to create a second nut and washer under the plate.
