1 Sided Beam to Column Flg - MC
TYPE: CONNECTION

This Custom Component is used to connect a beam that frames into a column's flange and has a top flange plate. This custom component uses a nested system component to connect the beam web to the column. Any of the common beam to column flange system components can be used, but 141 and 146 are recommended.

Example using 146 at the column flange.

Most part, bolt and weld controls are self-explanatory, however there are two options for the bottom beam flanges.
Option 1 - No Filler Plate - Erection Clearance
Option 2 - Use Filler Plate

It is also important to note that just changing the weld type for the bottom plate to column flange does not create preparation cuts – there is a separate drop-down menu and controls for the angle and root face.

Starting in v2017, slot controls are available for flange bolts created by this component.

1 Sided Beam to Column Web - MC - Back to top

TYPE: CONNECTION

This Custom Component is used to connect a beam that frames into a column's web and has a top flange plate. This custom component creates a top moment plate and uses a nested system component to connect the beam web to the column, and also to create the bottom flange plate. Any of the common beam to column web system components can be used, but 134 is recommended.

Example using 134 at the column web.

There is a pre-saved attribute for 134 called ForCCs_ColumnWebMC that should be used to create the bottom flange plate. You need to make sure this attribute for 134 has the beam's top flange thickness set in the offset field shown here. If not, enter the flange thickness in this offset field and resave the attribute before using it inside this custom component.

This offset value will position the top of the shear tab to the underside of the top plate.

If other changes are required to the bottom or shear plates, you must open component 134, load this attribute and make changes there.

Other parts, bolt and weld controls are self-explanatory. Starting in v2017, slot controls are available for flange bolts created by this component.

Starting in v2017, the above Custom Components are available in all US Environment Model Templates
