Purpose and description
The wraparound pipe footprint extension can be used to draw the footprints of connecting pipes in unwrapped part drawings.

Installing Wraparound pipe footprints
To install the extension:
- Download the Wraparound pipe footprints installation file from the Tekla Warehouse. For more information see Downloading an application from Tekla Warehouse.
- Run the installer.
Using Wraparound pipe footprints
To use the extension:
- Launch Tekla Structures and open a model with drawings.
- Click the Applications & components button
in the side pane to open the Applications & components catalog.Image
- Search for Wraparound pipe footprints
and then double-click to open it.Image
- Open a wraparound drawing or select one or more wraparound drawings in the drawing list.
- Set the properties for creating pipe footprints and click Create Footprints.
- Footprints will be created in the currently open drawing or in the drawings selected in the drawing list.

| Number of segments | This defines how many points around the attaching pipe will be used to create the footprint. |
| Outer contour | Check the box to create contours based on the outer diameter of the attaching pipe. |
| Inner contour | Check the box to create contours based on the inner diameter of the attaching pipe. |
| Color | Defines the color of the line for the outer and inner contours. |
| Type | Defines the line type of the outer and inner contours. |
Additional information
- This creates footprints for connecting pipes by checking the welds between the parts. It will only create a footprint when the unwrapped part is the main part of the weld and the attaching part is the secondary part.
- Only full footprints of connecting pipes are created; fittings and cuts are not considered when calculating the footprint. See the example below.

- This application is only designed to work with unwrapped (workshop form) single part drawings.
- The unwrapped view is assumed to be the Front view.
- The view cannot be rotated at the time the application is run. It can be rotated after the application has been used.
- If shortening is used in the drawing view, it may cause the footprint to be hidden as it may be drawn into the shortened area.
- This tool will erase any previous footprints is has drawn when run a second time in a drawing.
