Unfold cold rolled profiles (22)
System component Unfold cold rolled profiles (22) can be used to unfold parametric profiles as a polyplate or as loose plates. The goal is to create an unfolding: of a polybeam an unfolded drawing can be created. Beside the shape also part cuts and holes are taken into account.

including holes and part cuts. Situation A: Polyplate PL5*1000, this one can be unfolded. Situation B: 5 loose plates. Those plates can be connected using a bent so an unfolding can be created. |
Before you start
Model a profile.
Back to topSelection order
1. First, the numbering should be up to date.
2. Select the profile.
3. Activate the tool.
4. Select the position in the model where the unfolding should be created.
Main tab
Tab Main can be used to define which parametric folded profiles would be converted to new folded polybeams or loose plates. Also the position in the model can be defined.

Certain properties of the original part can be replaced. Once a field left empty the original property will be used. Next properties can be replaced:

Define the reference line of the new converted profile. The options are:
This setting only affects the position of the reference line. The dimensions of the new converted profile are always identical compared to the original profile. Example: Image

Possibility to define the position of the converted part(s) in the model, related to the position in the model of the original part or not. The option Position has 2 options:

This option is for profiles with variable thickness of each segments. With this option you can specify tolerance in which the thickness of each segments could be and it will get unfolded. Otherwise component strictly requires the same thickness of each segment. |
| 9 | Define the prefix of the new converted part or plates. The standard prefix is PL. |
| 10 |
Copy attached parts. The options are:
Attached parts (so not welded parts, but attached parts) taken into account in the unfolding. Option 3 works in combination with this option. In this example a polygon plate is used. Image
Original Option: No Option: Yes |

UDA tab
The fields in this tab can be used to move information or UDA's from the original part to the converted part.
The 4 fields on the left side offer the possibility to copy profile info to the UDA of the converted profile.
The fields on the right side offer the possibility to copy UDA's from original part to converted profile.
Examples:
Profile, Part position, Assembly position, Number of parts: use an existing UDA, for example USER_FIELD_1, USER_FIELD_2, USER_FIELD_3 and USER_FIELD_4.
After running the component result will be like in the picture below.
In case UDA "Comment" should be copied to new converted profile, use “comment”.
