The Section view along path is an Tekla Structures extension that can be found on the Tekla Warehouse - Link.

This drawing tool is used to create section views along the polycurve. Can be used for bridges, tunnels, etc.

Example

Usage

Create a GA drawing where you want to use the tool in the top-down view (use Ctrl + P to switch to this view)
Open the tool dialog
Select the path using the Pick polycurve or polybeam button
Open Document manager and select created drawing
Run the tool using Generate views button

Dialog	Description
Reverse the polycurve direction	Set the direction of the polycurve Options: Yes No
View creation by	Define how the views are created Options: Best fit - views are automatically created according to the shape of the path. Curved section views - views of the curved part of the spline are created according to the user defined view width. This is set in the field Section view width below. Linear sections are created as a one view Section views - views are created according to the user defined view width. This is set in the field Section view width below
Section view width	Width of the section view can be defined here
Section overlap	Section view overlap can be defined here
Depth down	Define the depth of view in viewing direction
Depth up	Define the depth of view opposite the viewing direction
Section view Y min	Define the minimal Y dimension of the created section views
Section view Y max	Define the maximal Y dimension of the created section views
Filter the objects by	Objects that will be excluded from the view creation can be selected here
View attributes	View attributes of the created section views can be selected here
Select drawing view by name	Exact name of the drawing can be defined here
Open drawing after generating views	Select, if the drawing will be opened after the tool finishes Options: Yes No
Redraw view	Use to redraw view and clear all temporary objects
Arrow size	Select the size of the arrow indicating the direction of the depth up Options: Small Medium Large
Draw arrow	Draw arrow at the start of the spline indicating the depth up direction
Border style	Select the style of the border Options: Line Plane
Draw depth borders	Draws borders in the model view. These are defined by the fields Depth up, Deph down, and Border style
1	Bar indicating the progress of creating views
2	Pick polycurve or polybeam according to which the views will be created
3	Generate views in the selected drawing
